this trade is kinda weird to me. Foligno has a NMC and seems to be settled, and that contract extension honestly sucks. Strange to overpay for someone who, although is good, probably wont trade or move

I believe, if you look at the ufas he added, they are just names from the Sabres past. If not, I'm not sure what he's going for.

Desimone, Kane, foligno, and gilbert were all born in buffalo.

They need a 3C who is good defensively and plays a tough game, which I think is a key position to fill this offseason. I don't believe they will go with Kulich like 3C. Maybe Skinner will be byuout, we'll see.

If they buy out Skinner it would be dumb not to wait until next year

He is not a positive vet presence at all. He doesn't play defense, and hasn't won a damn thing in 9 years.

He is also a P.O.S.

We were a top pp team 12 months ago. New coaching will fix that. Not pat kane

Hes absolutely a positive veteran presence. 2010 was a long time ago. You should be more mad at Uber than Kane by now.

Perhaps, but what to do with it? Ruff won't like his attitude and lazy play, it's hard to imagine how they will get along together, maybe a trade, I don't know.

We need players who are difficult to play against, who can work defensively. Skinner and Patrick Kane are not those types of players. Quinn and Benson will provide much more value than these two veterans. This is absolutely not what the team needs, and Adams also talked about this.

Other things have happened since then hoss.

Again, 9 years since he's won anything.

We can go elsewhere

Yeah, last thing we need to do is overpay for a declining 33year old 4th liner

Skinner isn’t going anywhere
And a buyout this year makes so little sense that it’s dumb just to even suggest it
Horrible idea

U don’t have to be a big dude who hits to be tough to play against
Guys who are speedy &/or score goals are tough to play against too

It doesn’t just mean “being physical”

And where do you see him in the lineup? Ruff will kill him.

I mean, Zach Benson is a hard player to play against because he eats at you. Jeff Skinner is the complete opposite, he's a lazy ass with no motivation and 9 million a year, he'll be in Ruff's doghouse or disappear

Skinner will play in the top9
And if that means he gets yelled at by Ruff a little bit,
that’s not the end of the world
Not the first time a tough coach yelled at Skinner
And not the first time Ruff has yelled at someone

You’re really overthinking this A LOT imo
Ruff has coached plenty of guys before who didn’t play defense, or were “lazy” and they still were plenty productive on good teams

Satan, Vanek & Afinogenov all immediately come to mind

Depends on what they do, im not expecting Foligno to score 40 goals from the 4th line, i expect 20 points and shutdown the other team, he does that consistently well to this day

Afinogenov played the 2nd most games under Ruff only to Hecht
