Makes no sense for SJ to send 1sts away, especially unprotected ones

Vegas will likely gonna be in the top 5 teams next season, so that's not really a big deal for them.

Why in the hell would MTL make that trade... we have 20M$ in cap and the 2024 wpg pick is equal to the 2025 VGK pick...

MAKES NO SENSE

Dvorak has got a year left... he'll be a UFA at the end of the season and we can afford to sit him, Anderson and Gally with our cap space

WTAF is that Necas trade? He really just isn't good enough to return more than a 1st + 2nd tops! He averages 55 points per season and is horrific defensively, basically he is Jonathan Drouin in a Canes uniform, would you give that up for Drouin? I sure as hell wouldn't.

So why would we trade a first that can change, for one thats already locked to be 22-32? Personally id take the chance on vegas not being as good next year because of how much cap space they have to sign UFAs

He can bounce-back with the Habs and become a 70-75pts player for few season. He plays also on the Canes PK and he's playing phisycal also.

Big difference between him and Drouin : Drouin haved all the presure on him to perform because Montreal offensive deep was bad.....

Vegas will gonna find a way to be competitive next season.

Don't forget they were this season the most injured team in the league (Stone doesn't count...........................)

If Kent Hughes isn't able to trade the Jets pick during the Draft, I can see Hughes trading it a make that trade latter in the offseason.

Don't forget the 50 players roster and you can't have more than 23 players on the NHL roster (and don't said that sending Dvorack to the AHL is a good idea.............)

LOL, he had 1 season at 70+ points, 1 season in his 5 year Career, he would have to have had 1 or 2 at less than 70 to "bounce back" he is a 55 point player on the 5th best team in the league, you seriously think he is going to put up 20 more points consistently on the 5th worst team? His 70 point season is an outlier just like Domi's not his norm, I wouldn't trade more than like the 15th ova pick and a 3rd for him, he isn't better than Dach or Newhook and isn't even close to being as good as Suzuki or Caufield. He is a middle 6 winger who averages 55 points a year and he is gonna be looking for north of 7 mil, Necas is going to be the Canes next KK, a seriously overpaid middle 6er.

The picks are nice, but not really enticing for a contender, that also has no reason to move Necas. Canes have enough cap flexibility to sign Necas as well as Jarvis and Guentzel to long term deals. Would be great to bring in a player like Buchnevich with those picks, but the Blues are in the same boat with Buch, they aren’t going to move him without a team really forcing their hand.

The package here doesn’t have anything that really forces the Canes to move Necas. 4 magic beans picks outside of the quality prospect realm of the draft and a cap dump, that assuming they develop, won’t have an impact at the NHL level for at least 3-4 years. Canes would be better off buying up Necas’ prime years, having him put up 60+ points, and trade him down the line if the need or the right package comes along.

People can quote the Fiala, ADB, etc trade comps all they want, but they were bought off of rebuilding teams or teams that were entering a rebuild. If the Canes sell Necas, it would be as a contender, and that’s going to be a lot more expensive, especially when the Habs won’t be willing to part with the 3 pieces the Canes would be wanting, since the Habs really don’t have the prospects that would entice the Canes (don’t need D prospects, which the Habs would be most likely to offer).

So you're telling me that your team will gonna enough money to resign Guentzel at 9M, Jarvis at 7,850M (salary comparaison of Caufield and DeBrincat) and Skjei at 6M with a 28M cap ??? And that's not include any other maybe resigning for thier deep (Teuvo, Noesen, Pesce). Likely gonna need to be VERY creative, but one of theses four players will likely gonna be gone, and the worst of them is Necas.

Receiving two 1st round pick for Necas it's a lot, teams will not gonna receive that. Also, you have a chance to put KK once again on the map with Armia.

Well we have 46 contract and you don't have to give an ELC to players rigth away. Moreover, some ELC will expire and you can always move some contracts if they don't have a high cap space.

This is terrible asset management.

You trade 2 first round pick 1 for 1.... then you add Barron, Dvorak (1 year left at a cap we can afford), 2024 2nd round pick (COL), 2024 7th round pick (WSH), 2025 4th round pick (DET)

Dvorak will not cost Barron, a 2nd and a first to Dump... and if its the case, we'll just keep him and let his deal expire - have have 20M$ in cap space and roster space. You can just WAIT a year and keep all these assets. Dvorak will play on the 3rd or 4th line.
