Yes but Utah will want to be competitive this season and they don't have any defense signed for next season. They can always draft an extra def.

How in the name of all that is holy does adding defenseman Kaiden Guhle while subtracting 0.77 PPG first-line forward Dylan Guenther make them more competitive than they are now?!?!?

I know that they won't be competitive without their best RW. Don't you?

Of course Tourigny and Armstrong would take Guhle . . . for a high draft pick or picks.

That's the argument for Montreal doing this, not Utah.

Do you just not get the point that Utah can draft a defenseman more highly rated than Guhle with their own pick? Adding a defenseman doesn't make them more competitive unless they're adding Adam Fox or Quinn Hughes or Cale Makar.
