I can't imagine why we'd want to pay a second and a third for one season of an expensive RW. Couldn't we just pay a third for Reilly Smith if that's what we thought we needed?

You can be sure Lee doesn't have the last place Sharks on his trade list.
Leafs have no interest in 5.8m 30 year old Pelech for five years. Just better value in UFA signings.

“Rebuild” means you start with moving Barzal, Nelson, Horvat, Dobson and Sorokin

“Retool” means you try to move bad contracts or average players with high caps so you can still compete. JGP, Lee, Palmieri, Pelech, mayfield

The Pulock deal is tempting as a Sabres fan, but man that is a lot of term for a player who will be on the wrong side of 30 next season.
