What the F. Hawks aren't sending this away for a pending UFA. Sam Rinzel is actually a very good piece and the Hawks aren't competing right now.

Darth does say Marner extends. And with Marner locked up, Hawks probably pass on Demidov and draft Leshevnov as the future #1 RD. So on the surface, this does make some sense. 6 years of Jones + Rinzell for 8/9 years of Marner + Lilypad. KD gotta at least think about it, doesn't he?

I'll be honest and say I didn't see the Marner extension in the description...which there isn't much of a description to be fair. That's the hardest part of this whole thing. Ensuring he stays. Big assumption I guess We'd need to see what he's extending for. I like Marner. He's a great 2-way winger for sure. I also see that there's not retention on Jones which would be required. Additionally, Timmy probably would be good paired with Vlasic. Not sure they're #1 capable together, but I guess they're still rebuilding. Their farm system at RD is so thin, they might take Levshunov anyway. I see Rinzel going back to Minn, then 1 year in Rockford at least. So I see him as the Murphy replacement. If we got a reasonable Marner extension I would be upset. I was under the impression there wasn't an extension in place.
