Technically, an extension cannot be in place since Chych isn’t eligible to extend until July 1st (after the draft). They could still make the deal with a handshake (like Seth Jones trade).

Again, Detroit doesn't need LHD. If they're trading their 1st, they're farther ahead doing it to grab an actual RHD rather than a LHD that can play the right.
