If it's a sign and trade then you're giving up more then that. Likely add a Zellweger or another A level prospect

We're not even giving up that, Toronto has zero leverage and Gibson isn't going to Toronto.

He would be your best offensive player since Selanne, would come with a discount below 12 million and would instantly make your team jump ahead in their rebuild.

Gibson isn't worth much of anything, Zegras is a good player but will never be a 90-100 point guy and the 3rd does nothing for Toronto.

If that extension was in place you guys would be lucky to get away with only adding Zellweger and not your 2024 1st rounder. Marner is behind only Kucherov as a RW in this league, I think people forget that on this site

Yet he's paid more than any not named Pasta, and will be again the highest paid RW after that, and he's shown he's not the guy come playoff time. He's the most elite complimentary piece in the league but I'd rather have Trevor Zegras and 6.5 million in cap space for another impact player. You also don't know that Zegras isn't capable of being a 90-100 point player.

And on top of whether he's a fit in Anaheim or not, there's his NMC to consider. Will he waive for Anaheim? Maybe, will he waive for anyone else? Maybe not. No other bidders means Toronto gets whatever Anaheim offers, not whatever Toronto thinks Marner is worth.

My God, this is a hypothetical site, we can only comment on the stipulated trades posted. In this post he's extended and worked out a sign and trade. In this sign and trade Toronto is getting the short end of the stick by getting a worse player both offensively and defensively and a goalie who hasn't had a .900 sv% in three years.

Like I said if he gave Toronto permission to shop him with a sign and trade then Anaheim is likely looking at giving up Zegras and another big piece, whether that be 2024 1st or Zellweger.

You can comment on what you'd rather have that's fine but if this hypothetical became a reality and both teams were doing this then Toronto loses this trade by a wide margin

He’s a pending UFA and we’re coming off a 3rd to last place finish. This was posted by a ‘Nucks fan for a reason. Unless he can be had without moving a single core piece (Leo, McT, Terry, Gauthier, Zegras, Mintyukov, Zellweger, Dostal, ‘241st) it’s an easy pass. You don’t put your future on the line with the hope that he signs an extension

We can read, we're saying Marners nor worth giving up A pieces for. He's not a fit on this team, we have playmakers already.

You literally don't have anyone as good as Marner, on your team or in your system. Carlson reaches that level in a few years hopefully but acting like this wouldn't significantly improve your team is delusional

I didn't say he wouldn't improve the team, I'm saying the pieces we give up, and the cap space we give up for him have a larger impact than Marner would.

This team is better off in two years time keeping all those pieces than we are with Marner, and that's all we care about, actually going deep in the playoffs.

Wow someone has something large shoved very deeply somewhere undesirable 😂 .

As far as I’m aware, the purpose of ACGM on this site is to engage with other fans about your ideas and have fun with it. Doesn’t seem like you’re very open to engaging, nor having much of any fun with it, so I’ll just leave you to your vices and wish you well
