Fixing the Leafs and trading core pieces

Description
First of all I AM AN OUTSIDER. I am not a leafs fan. In my opinion this is what I think would be a good course of action for the leafs, while still keeping their roster competitive. Upgrading the defense while getting big contracts off the books was first priority.

The Leafs can choose to draft defense or offense with Seattles first rounder which will be a prime pick to take whoever they please for whatever reason.

I'm not really sure how people will think abt this entire thing, but I tried to make it work in ways that I thought it'd be fair for the UFAS signed, and the trades facilitated between the respective teams.

Again, I tried as an outsider, lmk what u guys think.

Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Dunn, Vince
  2. 2024 1st round pick (SEA)
Additional Details:
Seattle finally gets an elite scoring player at a hefty price, but you gotta give to get. Seattle is already an elite defensive team, losing Dunn will be tough but you also gain an elite offensive piece which fills a massive need.
SEA
  1. Marner, Mitchell
  2. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
The Leafs free up some cap space and upgrade in the defensive department and can use Seattles draft pick to replace Marner or upgrade on defense again
2.
TOR
  1. Crouse, Lawson
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
They're able to add a scoring piece to the new franchise and for a reasonable price.
ARI
  1. Tavares, John
Additional Details:
Crouse will likely see an increase in playing performance playing along side AM34 and Nylander. This trade is less about Crouse, but more than it is about clearing the cap hit Tavares carries.
3.
TOR
  1. Markström, Jacob
Additional Details:
Flames get decent value for Markstrom who is aging and has been a little inconsistent over the past few seasons. Still a very serviceable goalie tho, and theyre able to get a first which imo is good value.
CGY
  1. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Previous history with Treliving, I dont think that Markstrom would be opposed to a reunion but im not sure. The leafs are probably comfortable doing this straight up because they already acquired seattles first rounder which will be a prime selection.

Seattle passes for a couple of reasons. 1) RF doesn't trade away first round picks. 2) Dunn just re-signed and is hitting his prime vs Marner being a FA next year on an inflated contract. Seattle's not giving up that much for one year and no guarantees.

Seattle holds that 1st rounder, takes one of the top 4 D-men in the draft and moves on.

Dunn is a big reason why Seattle's defense is so good. To me this trade would be filling one hole while creating another. Seattle does need scoring, but there will be avenues for them to do that this offseason that don't involve trading their best defenseman, and I think they will pursue those options rather than making a deal like this.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Marner, for as good as he is, is a rental until proven otherwise in a trade. Dunn by contrast has three years left on his contract. I can't really see the Kraken being all that willing to give up a core piece of their roster along with a high first round pick for someone who might only be around for a year when such a trade on its own likely isn't enough to make them an elite cup contender.
