I would think so. Someone will disagree though. I am just waiting for the "these players are not needed or useful". But I think it could work for everyone.

Devils probably have the best RD depth in the NHL no need for Pionk

Schmidt and Pionk are almost untradeable (unless you pay to offload) because their contracts are so inefficient. Two guys getting close to $6m each and they both should play no higher than the third pairing.
