Couturier

Created by: GarthBrooks

Initial Creation Date: Apr. 29, 2024

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not a lot of assets, not a lot of cap space, Couturier changed agents seems like a trade request situation, would philly be willing to retain 50% and take spare parts and a low pick?
Cheap way to get a top 6 forward in paul moving up then keep couturier as a permanent fixture in the 3C spot.

If you think someone is retaining $24M on Coots for Sheary I have a bridge to sell you. Coots isn’t getting moved for anything more than $2M retention. Hertl got a 1st and a former 1st round pick with all that retention and he doesn’t have half the resume Coots does. Dude missed 2 years with a back injury and came back and still scored at a 0.5 PPG pace even with being completely burned out the last two months of the season. He will come back even better next year. Any deal for Coots is a similar deal to Hertl.

I’d move Coots with $2M retention for free but I guarantee you the Flyers wouldn’t

I agree Philly doesn't do that. However saying Hertle "doesn't have half the resume coots does." Is utterly ludicrous is 78 less NHL he has 29 more goals and 39 less assist and 10 less points in a full season less basically.

He’s also not nearly the same level defensively as Coots and doesn’t have a Selke on his resume. Not everything is just about point production. Coots as of yesterday is still in the 80th percentile for defensive metrics. Hertl doesn’t sniff that.

Still utter garbage to say he's not half if you believe that you're a delusional Homer.

Defense is the other half of the game lol. Hertl has half a resume cause he’s only good offensively. Coots has a resume on both sides of the puck that’s quite literally all I meant. Nobody said Hertl wasn’t good offensively.

No need to insult to try and get ur point across you can try and have an adult conversation 👍🏼

You did read the word if right?
I don't always buy into some of these analytical metrics reason their as good as the person(s) doing the analysis. Some honestly have left more than a little to skeptical about. Tomas Hertle isn't bad defensive towards is he a Coots a Cirelli a Kopitar no but middle of the pack he's decent at picking people's pockets I'll take good defense in the offensive zone whenever I can get it.

Analytics are as good as the person providing them and interpreting them so no I've had several analytics sights say things like a month and a half into last season Phillip Myers was better Than Victor Hedman this was right before Thanksgiving. So until I know their sources and see the data they use to compile their analysis I'll pass
