I’m not a fan of trading a 1st + Svechkov for a winger. NSH has limited NHL centers and center prospects, and I’m a fan of Svechkov— and Trotz has spoke highly of him. I like Ehlers, but I don’t see this working. Maybe if there is a few around Tomasino or Fabbro and picks or something. Probably just not the right team for an Ehlers deal ultimately.

Remove the retention and EDM would accept, otherwise we can just buy him out.

Leafs need more than just Saros for Marner.
I believe the team would be looking for a defence upgrade for him

I think a marner for saros trade would work but it certainly wouldn't be 1 for 1 especially considering the 50% retention. Not sure why the leafs would retain when theyre getting 400k in cap relief and cap relief is the only real clear cut win from trading Marner
