Fire Bowner

Created by: Ennis
Team: 2024-25 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: May 2, 2024
Published: May 3, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Ehlers is one of the Jets best play drivers any time he gets meaningful minutes. Bowner is a crappy coach who doesn't like offense. It's the same reason Benn stated that he's happy the Stars can finally play offense once he was gone.

Perfetti almost scored 20g while logging 13 mins of ice time a night and you're telling me he played ONE playoff game? Insanity.

The constant cycle of reusing recycled coaches is such a crappy strategy and it's clear Bowner was never a great coach to begin with.

Sorry Jets fans, you will continue to go nowhere as long as he's here.

The counterargument to this is Bowness really awakened Morrisey as a defenseman.

It's easy to have a good record in the regular season when you have a stacked team.

They got exposed in the playoffs

Seems like you have a personal vendetta here. Odd and confusing for a Nashville fan.

At least there's that. But it comes with having horrendous first round exits two years in a row

What? Lol

There's no personal vendetta. I just feel bad for WPG fans. Stacked teams year in and year out and can't put it together. Bowness doesn't help because he's not a good coach. WPG has had two extremely rough first round exits two years in a row because he gets outcoached.

I countered your jack adams statement and you said I had a personal vendetta. nice.

Believe it’s a mutual option, so possibly walk him into retirement, I think he’s done some good things for the jets, but possibly time to pass the baton on to Arniel, Bowness wouldn’t be a bad consultant/president type gig going forward. Moved the line on defensive responsibility, and a respectable showing up until Colorado. But with some moves and possibly a similar voice with a little different stamp on the squad, could make for a better playoff run.

I don't think he is returning even if the club wants to pick up the option. When he came back after his first absence, Bowness described his wife's medical episode as "life altering" and he detailed how he and their children (one works for the Avs [business side i think], one works for the Sens, and I think the other is not in hockey) were making sure she wasn't alone when he was on the road. Unless he ends up in Denver, Ottawa, or the city where his other kid lives, I think he is moving on from hockey and into retirement.

Edit: It might be the non-hockey son that is in Denver and their daughter might be with a different NHL team. I'd have to go back to Bones' interviews to see.

Well I don't agree they had a stacked team.

Stinks that the 2 seed had to play the 4 seed in the 1st round. 2 team were 3 points apart

In a league that has any clue that's not a 1st round match up

They had an elite forward group, a back end performing really good with Morrissey at the helm, and a top 5 goalie in net. They are a stacked regular season team.

It should have been a game 7 series. Two top teams at each others throats. But Helle collapsed and Bowness got outcoached the second year in a row. Toffoli was brutal all series and still in the lineup... meanwhile Perfetti scored 19g with minimal ice time all year and gets 1 game in.
Ehlers is constantly snubbed despite being one of their best play drivers.

He's not a good coach.

The Jets defense is pretty mediocre really, are any of DeMelo, Pionk and Dillon true top 4 dmen?

They got exposed against the Avs, they're a mostly slow, immobile group that couldn't move the puck against the Avs forecheck.

Buffalo might be willing to do that
But it’s getting g quite redundant to see the Iafallo to Buffalo trade multiple times, every single day
