Hawks decline. Rather keep Murphy than swap for Lilypad. Hawks won't have much if any interest in Robertson.

People keep linking Marner to Winnipeg, but the Jets don't have the cap space (or the expendable assets) to make it work.

Apart from that, the Jets aren't a team that pays players more than they're worth. There are a lot of guys that left in FA or get traded because Chevy refused to sign an anchor contract. Laine was one that got traded, Myers left in FA. I have a feeling that Marner's market value will be less than his asking price (especially if he doesn't play with Matthews next year).

That's a very expensive rental for the Jets to upgrade from a ~20-25 goal scorer to a ~25-30 goal scorer. It just doesn't make sense for that Jets.

They can’t be too opposed to overpaying players considering Scheiffle and Helly will make 8.5 in their mid-to-late 30s.
