I think the Leafs would also definitely pass as well. Laine makes a ton, has struggled with health and some personal issues, and is a substantially worse player.

For that price, sure, I'd take Marner with an extension, even if it is 8x$12M. I don't think that's what Toronto needs, though...or Marner waives for CBJ...or Marner is necessary with Gaudreau being a similar player.
