If I'm Chicago I'm take Levshunov at #2.
No way Montreal takes Eiserman, they will go with Catton, Lindstrom, or Iginla.
I also think Utah will take Silayev since it's the same scouting staff and management as last year, maybe they go with Dickinson though

Very good! I see your worries, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Utah picked one of Catton, Silayev, or even go a little off the board, as we saw last year. Parekh would be a very good pick for Ottawa.

Both Parekh and Dickinson are PP merchants so dis-regard the points. They are also playing with other teenagers.

Dickinson is the better skater, better shooter and is better defensively and is bigger. Left vs. Right shot is irrelevant. You take the best available player.

Hanifin went for a 1st in 2026 and a 3rd 😂😂😂 at age 26

If he was a RD , he’d never ever be available .

Handedness absolutely matters

Some of our needs will be met if we trade Chychrun / Brannstrom to the highest bidder and sign Chris Tanev to a two year deal.

Csick that has nothing to do with what we’re talking about.

Hanifin was a pending free agent on a team that’s about to re build.

Yeah and he didn’t go for much. 2nd pair LD should be the last thing we draft. We can just trade for the next Gavrikov if that’s what we want.

When do good RD ever become available by trade?

To be fair I want Catton over both of them. Grab a RHD with the Boston pick.

It’s positional needs. Dickinson is good no doubt, but I would rather Parekh. Having Sanderson-Parekh would be nasty. Both defenders will be very good, but getting a high end RHD is way more valueable than a high end LHD… anyways, they already have one in Sanderson.

In leagues like the NFL, yes, you draft depth chart and positional needs with high picks. In the NHL, top 10 picks are best available player. Dickinson and Parekh are 2-3 years out of being impactful at the moment. A lot can change in that time. The RHD issue needs to be addressed via trade and free agency with where this team is at to take the next step next season. Stock pile RHD prospects with later picks if that’s an area of concern.
