Ive made so many different offers and either PIT or TOR fans say too much or too little. What do you suggest?

There really isnt anything on the pens that works in a tavares trade, either it's future heavy which makes no sense for them or it's just not enough to make it worth it for the leafs

Tavares’ contract also expires after next season, so not sure why Leafs would take on 2 unwanted salaries even if they are on one year deals. Long shot that JT waives, but if he (or Marner) were to waive - Leafs would only do it for cap space to address D corps. They’re not taking back big tickets

Would Ryan Graves interest you? I feel with McCabe he will be great fit. He just doesn't fit with Sullivan's system

The term would scare me - but it’s possible, I guess. I don’t have a good feel for Tre yet, but he clearly values size on the back end - maybe he thinks Graves could improve in a different system / environment

Again, I think he would. McCabe and him would be great on the second pair

Finally a trade that isn’t really a Tavares dump. But no way Robertson is going the other way. We don’t really want Eller when we already have Kampf and hard no on Smith. Also we ain’t selling low on Robertson, I don’t think the Leafs would trade him for anything less than a first because if he is healthy he could get 30 goals. To be honest I just don’t think that Tavares trade will work. But this with no Robertson is somewhat better. I’d give it a 5/10

Three Team Trade
PIT: Tavares
TOR: 2nd round pick (PIT)
Third Team: Smith + two 5th round picks (from TOR)

$11M in cap space for you guys -- that work?

That is better but JT I don’t think will leave TO there is almost no chance, he will retire a leaf under any circumstance. He has got a young family and I think even if his next contract is 2 mill he’d stay even if he was offered 7.

Valid. I think he is now the perfect 3C at this point of his career.

Calgary accepts, make it an even 1 mil retention and they make it a 3rd instead of a 4th.
