Dubois is a negative value asset at this point. You aren’t getting Landeskog, unless he truly will never play again and he’s LTIR dump… but you’d still have to pay to shed Dubois not get impact for him.

Liljegren doesn't have much value and JT is a cap dump (two very easily replaceable players). If we're getting a first from this package, you take that all day

You’re retaining 3 million on JT making his cap 8million for a 65-70 point center, that alone is worth a first round pick, now add onto that Liljegren who is worth at least and 3rd and you’re also giving a 4th round pick now just for fun

$8M in cap space isn't "small". Yeah you want an additional $3M but you still get valuable cap space back by trading Tavares

You don't... He's their captain and has only 1 year left while can still give you 65+ points a season... He'll resign cheaper and you save the assets

Being a captain doesn't mean you deserve to be a captain. I would even say Reavo is a better leader than Tavares. It's just the soft, entitled culture that Dubas has built in Toronto

Outside of that, I hope we don't bring him back. Start by asking him to waive his NMC clause and if he says "no", remove the captaincy and put him in the press box

Again, if Treliving brings back JT, you are saying that JT is a great leader, etc.

PLD is just about kryptonite to any serious team. COL doesn’t want him, and they sure as **** aren’t trading Landeskog to get him. Even if Landeskog never plays again I would rather have the LTIR space than PLD.
