Noo! I was Jecho with our 2nd! Also, wouldn’t you want to keep 15OA, and just draft a guy like Greentree, Sennecke or Connolly instead?

I would personally rather keep 15OA. Dropping down that much just for a slight improvement really isn't worth it in my point of view. Walman isn't in the long term plans as it is already. His contract is really good for allowing the youth to develop and then he will be moved. I have no issues moving him now though is it was a deal to get us a good draft pick.

Yeah, there's a couple guys that I'd think they want to use 15 on if they were there.

There are some decent players that will be in the 25-40 pack also, so getting a couple picks in that range might be a good way to take more swings at "longer term" projects.

This simplifies to approximately 60 OA + Wallman for Chychrun. Sens will probably get quite a bit more for him at the deadline with retention

Wings pass, not moving back for something that's not a position need or an upgrade

There are some decent players in the late 1st, early 2nd round.. so many I like haha. Personally though for Detroit, I would stick with 15OA, and Walman in this scenario, as I believe Walman is better than Chychrun defensively, has an extra year, and will be much cheaper than Chychrun’s next contract. At #15, you could select one very good player, most likely a forward to play in that top 6. I understand wanting to delay a lot of prospects, since you have some good ones coming up, but if push comes to shove, you trade some of the worse ones off, and fit these better ones in.

Just keep Walman and the higher pick...
