I like most everything here, but I don't think the Kings will run with both Spence and Clarke. If Roy doesn't re-sign, I think they'll go sign or trade for a less expensive defensive RHD.

I would love to get Dakota if he is priced out from the Canucks. If we need someone for PLD we should look into Wheeler who has played with PLD previously and could be signed cheap.

Personally I'm reluctant to sign Ned for 3 seasons, but one of Stolarz, Brossoit, Nedejlkovic for one season and let's try to get Portillo in a few games this season.

The one area I really hope we address is finding another shutdown player who can improve on Englund or play both sides.

Similar thought here, but shutdown 3LD improvement from Englund who can play right side if needed.

I've wondered about Arvidsson.

Does he just need to be healthy?

He used to be a nice combo of skill and a pain in the ass to play against.

I just fear Joshua could be the next Fernando Pisani?

Maybe he is the real deal, I don't know.

I think there will be teams lining out the door to sign Joshua at 3M. Then again, maybe he's a systems guy that wont look remotely as good outside of Tocchet's system and playing with Garland... Either way, I think Vancouver's first piece of business is getting him extended.

I had the same idea of Nedeljkovic, but 2 years instead of 3. Brossoit has been really good, but doesnt have the experience of playing 1A minutes (45-50 GP). Not sure how he'd handle the significant increase in workload.

Bringing Jazz hands back on a cheap 1-2 year deal might be an option for 3LD. I just dont think Mikey - Gavrikov 1-2 on the left side is cup-contending material. I'd try and find a partner for Gavrikov, and then look to maybe trade for Shea Theodore. We desperately need more mobility on the blueline.

I don't think they need a shutdown 3LD replacement. I think they need a puck moving LHD (essentially a left handed Spence) to replace Englund and a shutdown RHD replacement. They already have two shutdown LHD in Anderson and Gavrikov.

Arvidsson is great when he's healthy. Also, because he was on LTIR for over 100 days last season, he's technically eligible for the Connor Brown contract (i.e. deferred games played performance bonuses). There's probably enough demand for him on the UFA market to where he doesn't go that route, but if he feels like he's not getting the best offers because of his injury history, he could go that way to get a "prove it" season under his belt to show teams that he's still healthy and productive.

I'd try and find a partner for Gavrikov...

Full NMC makes that unlikely.
