Boone isn’t one that cbj can afford to trade right now. The value he has to us vastly outweighs his middle 6 center value he would have to a contender.

And yet teams still called about him, and we see at least three posts a week featuring a trade involving Tuch. Now that doesn’t mean it’s ever going to happen, but that’s annoying.

Part of the difference is that I don't think Pegula came out with a public statement saying Tuch isnt going anywhere. But otherwise, yep, we know just how annoying that gets.

These trade for Necas/buyout Skinner ideas don't make much sense, but at least you didn't trade Skinner and a high pick, while retaining salary, to dump his contract.

Necas at $7M + $1.4M in the buyout equals 600K less than Skinner's $9M cap-hit. In the process the Sabres are trading away a decent 4/5 RHD, the 11th overall pick and a potential journeyman, 4th Line role player.

But over the past three seasons, Necas has averaged 22 goals and 33 assists while Skinner has averaged 31 goals and 33 assists.

Doesn't make much sense to me.
