Not a bad offer, but Carolina are going to be looking at Poitras. Even if some of the other assets come out of this deal, that's the guy the Canes will want 100%

look all you want. that's just not a thing. the bruins are in no position to trade a center for a non-center.

Necas is literally a center

man why do people just insist on using the word literally incorrectly? it's pretty simple.

No, he's not. Will he play center in the NHL in the future? probably, but probably for a bad hockey team. He was drafted as a center, but the reason he'll be moving on is because the hurricanes have a very good coach, and he's decided that Necas just isn't a center in this league.

If you look at Boston's culture, and what they look for in centers, I'm guessing their standards are actually higher than the Canes. He's not a center. He's a center in the way that Tyler Seguin was a center.

What...

Necas isn't play at center because, when he was brought up to the big club, he was put on Aho's wing because of Teuvo's injuries. Rod is a PISS POOR player manager and had Necas on a line with Drury and Martinook. It's why so much of the fanbase wanted a fresh voice this time. But Necas is literally a center. Watch him play, he drives the middle of the ice, he's not shambolic defensively and often puts himself in the right spots. The only thing he can't do is take draws

again, you suck at using the word literally. super simple definition. look it up.

He's been a winger....because he's better at wing....and not good enough to be a center. Moving on.....well, first look up literally, then move on.

No, he is literally a center. He's playing on the wing because Rod is dumb, but he's always looked better as a center. All this is doing is proving you do not watch enough of Necas to have an opinion here

i'm not entirely sure you know what looking good at center means.

(Spoiler - it doesn't have anything to do with points)

FYI - Waddell and Rod know more about hockey than you. they say you're wrong.

Rod decided a 2nd line of Martinook - Drury - Necas was a good idea and kept Teravainen and Jarvis in the bottom six. He's got CTE. Waddell openly wanted him played as a center, so.... I agree with Waddell!

saying someone has CTE is pretty messed up. very low character move on your part. be better.

Waddell just decided he would rather have Rod than Necas. Rod thinks Necas is a winger. So if you agree with Waddell, you agree with Rod, and you agree that Necas isn't a center.

Moving on...after you grab a dictionary of course.

No, he's open about his health, and the effects he's listed signal that the trauma he took to his head during is playing career have affected his brain. But, you know...

Waddell didn't decide anything. Dundon did. Dundon can't afford to let Rod go because he is a franchise icon, but Waddell sees Necas as a center because he is LITERALLY a center!

Moving on

the only way to diagnose someone with CTE is to cut their brain open after they die. so no, we don't know if he has CTE.

GMs win the fight over the coach. almost always.

Quick question: why doesn't the center play center?

you aren't from the research triangle, are you?

Necas is a center that doesn’t win face offs consistently and is not known for defensive effort. I don’t care if he’s played center, those shortcomings need to be considered when making a player your number 1 center

Hes a super talented scorer, but my guess is Boston is just signing Lindholm. There is no perfect solution for Boston, but he’s definitely a fit for their system

Once again, Necas isn't a center. Better kept on the wing.

Bruins would not even consider Poitras for Necas. He is a 2nd line RW who wants out, Canes do not have the leverage to ask for a young, potential top 6 C.

Necas is literally a natural center. I've had this debate all morning with a delusional Bruins fan (not you). Necas is a natural C that wants to play C. If he's going to be forced to play on the wing, he wants top PP time. Waddell said he plans on keeping Necas since he's arbitration eligible, meaning you'd have to meet the Canes price to get Necas

Necas isn't a natural center man. Don't let him convince you otherwise. He's wrong.

I understand that he wants to play center and has in the past, but he does not have the makeup of a cup contending top-six NHL center. He does not play defense and is terrible at the faceoff dot. You could get by playing him at center, but it is not worth trading Poitras for essentially a more offensively talented, worse defensive Zacha.

He's not awful defensively, but he is someone that could be a 1C on a cup contender. I made the comparison earlier to what Kuznetsov was 8 years ago in Washington. That is what Necas can be. He needs a good coach, which Montgomery definitely is, to help him move across, and while their might be growing pains, he could easily be the best offensive center in Bruins history imho.

Just look at his faceoff win percentage, it’ll want to make you puke

Makes me feel thankful we had Lukas Reichel playing center for like a month this season before we realized that was a terrible idea

He sucks in the dot, it's the one place he's always needed help, but he's such a dominant player in the middle of the ice, if you can live with it, he'll be a great player for a long time

you're still trying this? he sucks at everything related to playing center. he's awesome at everything related to playing wing. why are you so upset he's not a center?

also no team can live with a guy being that bad at faceoffs. you can't have him on the ice. that's one reason why your team wouldn't put him on the ice at center.
