I have a feeling that they'll want a younger piece with high upside

if your talking about the canes then they could probably interchange the second with player like chaz lucius and rework it so its a even trade

Just don't see the Jets trading that 2nd unless it's to move up in the draft, not saying an extended Necas isn't worth giving up that 2nd for but doubt management would go to the draft with no pick till the 4th round.

Edit: The Jets need to get ****ing faster and improve their mediocre defense, would be much better to keep Ehlers and add Necas.

Edit #2: Theres a less then 1% chance of Pesce signing in Winnipeg.

Some team might give you a pick for Pionk but it won't be the Hawks

I don't hate it. Depends who is available in free agency. A lot of guys could be traded and/or extended before the draft. If our options are slim for addressing RD, a mid round pick for one year of Pionk wouldn't be a bad use of assets. Plus, he only has a 6 team no trade list and he is a pending UFA. Which means it shouldn't be hard to flip him at the deadline with retention. I think a lot of the UFA RD targets this summer will have their pick of teams, and a rebuilding CHI team won't be one of them, and Pionk is still probably better than what will be left to choose from.

I can't help but feel like the Hawks address the RD opening in free agency. And if not, then the Wings pay KD to take Holl. Holl and Maata seems like the odd men out on the blue line in Detroit. I'd also much rather spend a 4th on Nick Perbix from Tampa Bay, who will likely be available and fits better age wise and style wise to what the Hawks want.

Agree with both of you here. I don't hate the Pionk move if they make it but I'd like someone like Perbix more if the price is similar.

Sure. I'm just saying that, as an option, Pionk isn't a bad one and this isn't a bad price. I don't think CHI will address RD in free agency, though. As I said before, the options are limited and most of, if not all, those options will be gobbled up by contenders and teams on the cusp of entering a window of contention. CHI is too far away from even being a halfway decent team for guys to have any interest in wallowing away in a rebuild. But, yes, I wouldn't mind Perbix, either.
