Cuylle is an awesome young 3LW for NYR but this is more than enough value to pry him onto the Island.

Value wise it's an overpay for Cuylle but you have to think what Drury would rather have. Rangers are a contender with an ELC player that pushes 15 goals and 200+ hits per season. His game is perfect for the playoffs and those picks are lottery tickets that would need 2-4 seasons to come to fruition when NYR are likely going to be on their outside of their window.

So I'd say it comes down to how Drury values the assets he'd be getting over what he's importing. I think he stays put with Cuylle but that offer should be more than enough. Habs fans would love his game. He's only getting better.

thank you for the input and yes he's a great player. What about Othmann ? Are you stacked enough or is he part of the depth?

He's been developing for the last 3 years (finished AHL stint this year) and is likely to earn a 3LW or 1RW spot with NYR next season with Roslovic and Wennberg being priced out. Another note on Othmann, he is Will Cuylle but a better skater and better offensively. He's a gritty scoring winger with more skill than Cuylle. Can't wait to see his season next year. This team is gonna be real hard to play against...

Were Gorton and Bobrov a huge part of that team or is it the new management team?

They were pretty hit or miss. They hit on Chytil, Miller, Schneider, etc but missed out some big picks like Vitali Kravtsov, Lias Andersson, Nils Lundkvist and more. They whiffed the McDonagh trade and signing Trouba to a major contract. I will give them credit for the rebuild as they helped accumulate some nice pieces and build this team to where they are now but think how they could’ve done much more. Toronto paid Jarvis to dump Marleau back in 2020 and they should’ve been all over that for example. They let a lot of stuff on the table and contracts were an Issue. They paid DeAngelo, Trouba, Shattenkirk, Smith to major deals and 3/4 were bought out. They make great moves and make poor moves to counter lol.

If isles are trading their 1st, they can do a lot better than young 3rd liner.

That package would return ehlers, Rossi , perfetti…

Isles accept mtl trade, don't know if the habs do
I'd love that Lee trade honestly, getting that cap space and two 2nds is awesome
The isles and rangers have only made 1 trade in their franchise history, no way

Only quoting 1 year of points shows your hockey ignorance.

45 pts in 69 AHL games as a 21 year old isn’t helping his case lol

I knew that the Rangers deal would be rejected but a Rangers fan told me that it was fair and would be open to that. If you guys do not jump on Cuylle or Othmann, Habs are going to be in the mix to get him.

As for the rest, I know a few of your fellas who do not like Lee's deal, but yeah, getting more picks to add depth to the prospect pool is a necessity nowadays in the new era. Thanks for your previous input and I'm happy to see you liked it!

I know you would get more, but if you want to pass Lee's contract you will need to pay like the Flames did with Monahan. Both of those youngsters can also help to push the window and become true middle sixers to replace Engvall or even Holmstrom (if he doesn't pan out enough or become a 4th line). I also targeted the kind of players that Lou loves. It's a steep price, but the return is not that bad.

They dont need to trade Lee. In this ACGM you left the isles with 7 mill in cap space.

They just need to trade pageau. Isles have plenty of 3rd liners , cuylle would get killed in a top 6 role. He doesn’t have the skill set for that. Same thing with the Russian they just signed. Good player, but he’ll likely be a solid bottom 6 player

The isles main need is a top 6 forward who can drive play produce at a top 6 rate. There are multiple players who fit that profile who are available in a trade this summer. My guess is isles trade for ehlers

But you guys need to get younger too. Lee is too old for the actual window. I understand that replacing Pageau would be best, but that 7 Million + can be Stamkos so you can send Tsyplakov to AHL!

Lee is much better than pageau and pageau would be easier to get rid of because he’s a center.

Getting stamkos contradicts what you just said, he’s old and on the decline although still a good player .

Tsyplakov isn’t going to the AHL, look at how his contract is structured.

The best case scenario for the isles is to trade pageau and acquire ehlers
