I think this is not enough for RNH. Honrqvist is a rental and RNH still have 4 years left on his contract and he's younger than Hornqvist. You'd have to add Sheary, Sprong or Rust to make it happen.

Lol why do Pittsburgh fans overate most of their players Hornqvst is good but older and no where near the value of Nuge just b/c he one 2 cups doesn't mean that his trade value sky rockets.
And that 1st rounder is basically a 2nd rounder the way Pittsburgh usually does in the playoffs.

RNH is a 3rd line center with an unmovable contract, which Edmonton HAS to move before McD's contract kicks in next year.
I think it's less about over-valuing Pitt players and more that a lot of people think you can bleed a 2x Stanley Cup champion to burn contracts you don't want. It's a cap world, RNH getting paid for 1st line and playing with middle 6 skill means EDM is going to get **** value to dump the contract. If there was a real market Duchene wouldn't still be in COL. Hell, if there were real trade markets Fleury would've been worth more than giving up a pick to ensure he got picked in expansion.

I think it's about over valuing RNH. He's a scoring line center that doesn't score enough points, and he's not a 3rd line center ... and doesn't produce $6m in points. He's offensively gifted by weak.

Why doesn't he play with McDavid or Draistal if he's so great? He's a cap dump who hasn't lived up to his #1 billing ... though still a very talented player.

I'd keep the what you're moving and go after a real 3rd line center that can PK, gives up his body and produces 5 or 8 less points for $3-4m less than RNH.
