As a Rangers fan I wouldn't want this. Giving up too much. It'd be one thing if they were getting a really elite center but Duchene is just a solid #1 center imo. Just not worth giving up that much for

Not an Avs fan, but absolutely NO from an Avs perspective. Deal needs to be centered around a defenceman, not Kevin Hayes (who I am not even big on to begin with).

The reason a Duchene trade hasn't been done is because: A) the deal needs to be centered around a defenceman, and teams like Nashville have reportedly refused to give up a top d-man, and B) the return just isn't big enough in Sakic's eyes. This trade proposal would fall under both.

Sakic can sit on Duchene as much as he wants. If a team wants him, they're going to have to give Sakic what he wants. No way around it. So center it around a d-man, and probably throw in a d prospect and you're good. There's teams that can easily pay that price, but they're just trying to get him to come down. He shouldn't come down and I don't foresee him doing so...he's held off this long, and while I can diss Sakic a lot for how bad he's been, at least he's trying to get this right.
