Sure. The Leafs could also trade Nylander for Bracken Kearns, and Mitch Marner for Tanner Glass. Simple tweaks that can make a lot of difference.

Simple but not good for the Leafs. Leafs would likely prefer near NHL Dman Dermot. Leafs don't need an AHL/NHL RWer. And you want the Leafs to give up Brown too? Barbeiro at age 27 has never secured an NHL job. Leafs don't need him.

i assume you value brown higher than he is and Bjorkstrand lower then he is...... i think Bjorkstrand will be a 30 goal scorer in the next 2 seasons i dont think brown wll ever achieve that

Even if Bjorkstrand scores 30, Brown has already scored 20. And Dermot is expected to be an NHL starter, maybe even this year. Leafs just isn't the team that needs forwards and the expense of a DMan.

I assume you value Bjorkstrand higher and Brown lower than he is. How do you know what either will or will not achieve? The only thing one can "know" is that Brown HAS achieved 20 goals at the NHL level.

Capital: Your assessment of the above is certainly subjective, but in all honesty I don't think either player will likely play above the Leafs third line, (and I think Kapanen might), and Leafs would certainly be giving up some of the defensive metrics that Brown has that Bjorkstrand simply doesn't. Please tell me you don't see him as a PK specialist? Adding in Dermott as well makes the deal moot.

leafs give up their 20g rookie forward and top D prospect for a winger who is only a year younger than brown, and likely to be a similar player (20g/40-50pts)? no
then they dump off one of their better forward prospects and a 2nd for a 27 year old depth dman that has bounced between the AHL and NHL? also no
