what should be truly done. Let me explain, by making this trade, you get two young right handed shot defenseman and a lefthanded shot. You take clendening, Lovejoy, and Scuds out of the lineup for those three. You trade lovejoy, send scuds down, and keep clendening up as a 7th defenseman. Also, trading horny makes room for sprong to play the top 6 minutes he deserves, if it fails, move Bennett or fehr back up. They need to make a trade that involves a forward for defenseman.
Thanks for your critique of the Pens in your "change" lineup. As as hockey fan, the Pens, are still a"name" team to watch, though not always by their current play. I guess it's something like the Dallas Cowboys...still "America's team" though by their play in recent years, they should just be "Dallas's team". The Leafs and Pens will "joined at the hip" for the next 15 years as the Kessell trade will take that long play itself out with the draft choices involved.
Interesting that Sprong was kept on the Pen's roster. The Leafs have junior aged Micheal Nylander playing in the American League, is the league's leader scorer, but it appears that he will remain in the minors despite the Leafs scoring woes. Just a different approach to these two guys...at least right now.
Thanks Zac... When I wrote it, I thought "Is that right?" Well thought it was. Imagine how messed up I'll be when the other Nylander who plays junior in Mississauga right now becomes a pro.
Watch the draft next summer, he should be drafted in the top 10. I'll be watching for his mother.....just gorgeous. I'm so old she's young enough to be my daughter. To my the younger generation is people in their 40s.
Problem is why would Arizona trade 2 young promising RH dmen away? Hornqvist is a nice piece but its not like Arizona is a playoff team so why would they trade youth for veterans? There are plenty of RH dmen to be had around the league but you got bring down those expectations. The good ones are taken and the teams that have them don't want to trade them. Its the reason why the Habs overpaid for Petry. Players of his calibre and that are RH, are seldom available.
As said previously, the problem in Pittsburgh is not the salary cap, its not Sid, its not Scuderi. Its the coach and his system. Even non-Pitt fans can see it.

Thanks for the insight, it was just a layout for a trade. There are a number of teams and a number of players that could be involved.
