Jost and Duchene haha thats funny. Bennett isnt worth Jost straight up and Kylington doesnt get you Duchene
ANd you initally think that would have got you Mackinnon...wow
Look, Duchene walks in one year. Bennett is what, 5 years younger.
Lazar and Jost are not that far apart yet.
So CGY locks in 2 upgrades today. COL takes on uncertainty -- which is fine, they still have 2 top 6 Cs of their own that they trust, that they can count on.
Kylington is going to be worth a lot, and you will probably never hear him traded from Calgary. He's worth more than a 2nd round pick. He's worth more than a top 5 1st round pick, because he's proven out and on track. Think of Kylington + Andersson as Pietrangelo + Bouwmeester.
You might very well be upset, but it's not from this trade offer. Let it sit and come back to it
edit: Sorry for mixing the 3 proposals around and mentioning Lazar when you responded to Bennett + Kylington.
fwiw I think Kylington and Andersson are worth more as a pair given all the minutes they've played. They're the same age and their game complements each other. If it makes you reconsider, they were at times expected to go much much earlier in the draft.
Kylington + Andersson + Bennett for a great Top 6 C and futures in return (CGY has traded 6 out of their next 14 draft picks) would be what's needed in return. Keep in mind there is a bit of a gap in CGY's D depth going forward losing their top 2 prospects, they have played Bartowski and Russell to get through it already.
I'll also add, for all the hype given to CAR's D corp -- Faulk, Hanifin don't show up as good defenders in the types of shots they give up. They artificially look better with offense numbers that get recorded and seen, while the one aspect of their game that a F or G can't replace is their biggest weakness and forgotten because no one watches Carolina.
