I think the Price is right

We couldnt agree to anything with Barberio because both are unwilling to give picks. I mentioned if you wanted Grimaldi (1yr x 750k RFA waiver eligible) as well.

My other idea was this: Comeau (1yr x 2.4mill UFA) for Mitchell + Hemsky? Something along those lines. Basically, you drop a contract but pick up 2 mill extra for arguably a better player as of right now. We can work around all of this.

Thoughts?

Possibly. I like Frolik and he's been fairly consistent the last few seasons. He's not a 20 goal scorer though. What do you have in mind?

Barberio + _____ for Hemsky + Audette is more what I had in mind. Can you fill in the blank with a serviceable AHL'er? (Someone I don't need to put through waivers that makes less than $1M)
I can't justify dropping more picks for something minor, even if it is a late pick. Similarly, I can use the cap space better on something better than Comeau. I also can't take on 2 NHL'ers if I'm moving 1 NHL'er. I don't have an extra roster spot.

Or if you want to insert Tanev on his shooting side (4LW), I could do Barberio + Comeau + Bourque + Trent Vogelhuber for Hemsky + Hartnell + Mitchell + Audette?

Gives u a better option on the 4RW and 4LW, all whilst clearing cap space and roster space.

Bourque is waiver eligible, yea. I sent him down to the minors about a month ago and no one claimed him so I'm guessing your good to go if thats how it works. I'm good with this.. you can write it up whenever. cheers

Small potatoes but would you consider swapping Joni Ikonen for Gustav Lindstrom? Also, if you do decide to target a 2RW, Nyquist may be a good fit. Asking for a top prospect or mid-prospect+pick and can possibly take on a bad contract (or make it a bigger trade to fit)

No thanks, I'd rather keep Ikonen. Nyquist is a possibility, but nowhere near the top of my list. He'd need to pick up his production in order to be an upgrade on Shaw. Maybe later in the season if I'm still looking.

Difference between a 2nd and 3rd could be the difference between renting a 2nd or 3rd liner at the deadline, which is what I'm hoping for.
