Untouchable by NMC/ NTC:
Andrej Sekera
Joe Thornton*
Note that with all players I'd take a cap dump in return, if you do not need to dump salary/ have no player to dump the price can be negotiated slightly lower. I'm not looking to blow this team up immediately so please be patient with offers, do not expect offers to be taken up immediately.
*Prospects are Very Unlikely to be moved, but do not be afraid to ask on them. Just understand that unless the deal is worth it from my end they likely won't be available.

Not interested in the first package as I already have better offers on the table for Pavelski.
Second package depends on the plus but I'm not in love with the package so far
Okay. I've narrowed it down to my top 3 for a center I think. I'm still waiting for responses on a couple, but it's at a point where I can start negotiating now.
One of my directives is to stock picks, but if I have to move one, I have to get one back.
I'm taking into account that you could flip Plekanec for a 4th or 5th.
(We could work out something conditional where you send me a pick depending on what you flip Plekanec for instead. I'm just trying to avoid complications)

From my side this deal looks pretty good as well. I'd prefer not to conditionalize the pick, as I'm looking to stock up picks as well plus I don't have a 2nd or 3rd this year. I'd like to think this through a little more too so it's not confirmed on my end yet but I'm definitely interested. Thanks for the response.
Have to give good pieces to get good pieces... Couture is in a better situation than Matt Duchene and thus has more value. None of Tolvanen, Girard or the first are NHL proven yet. I can't just move assets for the sake of moving them. I will have more than enough cap space to re-sign Couture if needed so I'm not going to move him unless the package is just right. Also, the first is going to be a late first rounder given that Nashville is a contending team on the up and coming. It's no guarantee to be an NHler by any means
Mostly out of curiosity, would retaining on Pavelski be a possibility?
I'm considering a scenario where I don't send you Plekanec and I'm wondering if $2M retention x 2 years is an alternative.
You'd end up with an extra $4M this season to take on a contract (with compensation) if that's something you're interested in, and the $2M for one more season doesn't look like it creates any re-signing issues for you.
Or perhaps we could work Martin into the deal, where I take him at full price but the retention goes on Pavelski instead.
(My reasoning is that Martin is older and easier to deal with if he bombs in the next 2 seasons. He will either retire or be cheaper to buy out. It can also help to serve as a lower expectation for Pavelski's re-signing if he also declines).
Pavelski ($2M retained) for Juulsen, Hudon, 1st or
Pavelski ($2.425M retained) + Martin for Juulsen, Hudon, 1st, 3rd or
Pavelski ($2.425M retained) + Martin + 5th for Juulsen, Hudon, 1st, 2nd
All picks 2018, your choice of which 2nd, and you might want to add a player to your side of the first option (any waiver exempt player with 1 year left for my AHL, to keep the contracts even) but that's your call (doesn't matter to me).

I'd prefer if at possible to not retain on any two year contracts at the moment. Main reason I'm trying to avoid retaining on 2 yr. contracts is to be able to retain 1 yr contracts and flip at deadline for assets.
for couture I could do 2018 1st round pick + sprong + Tristen jarry.
two really good prospects
Sprong and Jarry are good but Sprong is a RW and I'm already loaded there. As a whole it's still not enough quality for me to move Couture.
what about horqnvist + a 2018 1st round pick + jarry for pavelski
hornqvist you can flip at deadline for another first round pick easily (probably more) so you would essentially be getting two 2018 first rounders + jarry + potentially even more depending on what u get for hornqvist AND u don't need to retain anything or take back any bad contracts

I was just going off your description, where you'll retain on Martin. So are you just saying the first option is out, or all of them are?

I forgot to change that part in my description. I will make a counter offer though...
Pavelski (3 million retained) + Martin + 2018 5th for Juulsen, Hudon, 2018 1st, Charlie Lindgren, Victor Mete

If Hornqvist had no NTC I'd be able to do this but since he has an NTC I'd be stuck with him through the deadline and would lose him for nothing

wait how does the NTC work in this game?
So NTCs can be traded once, but once they've been traded that one time they cannot be moved again for the duration of the contract. NMCs cannot be moved at all unless you get BOE approval.

I appreciate the thought, but extra retention isn't worth additional assets for me. I'd prefer to make the cap work in other ways.
I'm realistically only expecting to get this season out of Martin, making him a rental. Worth a pick perhaps, but not a prospect.
Was just checking for additional possibilities, due diligence. I'll probably wait to see how well Streit holds up and see what deadline options there are.
