    Demers won't be top pairing with Arizona why would he be in Toronto? He's a very good 3/4 guy which we have two of. No need for him

    Yep, I thought Demers would have been a good pickup in the summer, better solution than Hainsey in the top 4.

    exactly. he may not be a top pairing d but he's certainly better than hainsey.

    Is demars an upgrade on hainsey? yes
    Would demars improve their D core? yes
    Would demars make the leafs a better team? Yes

    In case you haven’t noticed... there are VERY few top pairing RHD available on the market, if any. Leafs aren’t making any moves for a top pairing RHD cause it would cost them a nylander or marner. HOWEVER, while yes you’re right, demars isn’t a top pairing D, he does improve Toronto immensely. Hainsey isn’t a top pairing D either and demars is better than hainsey
