That pick will likely be between 10-16. We are simply not good enough to make the playoffs in this staked division and unless everyone execpt Suzuki gets injured, like last years, we wont be bottom 10.

Kovacevic makes league min for two more years, as a good RHD on the 3rd pair, teams will have interest. Jets could flip him for a late 2nd or 3rd.

For a rental, thats a lot to give up

He is, but he could still be a good player, just not at that cap hit. If we buy him out, Id see him doing well with the Avs on a 1 year deal with low AAV.

Big body, good shoot, great at puck protection... but has no heart. He decided to take the bag in MTL and stop trying. A buy out and change of scenery could get him going again.

I think Smith to Columbus, there are lots of rumours saying that the management likes him.

San Jose's GM said that they wanted to get bigger. Lots of their top prospects are small (Bordeleau, Eklund) so them picking Carlsson would make a lot of sense

Habs already have a lot of depth in their prospect pool, it makes no sense to pass on possible franchise superstar Matvei Michkov for some more depth pieces.

Other than Bedard and maybe Fantilli, Michkov is clearly the best player and we would be fools to trade that pick.

Every day I see mock trades of our 1rst going to WSH or DET and I dont understand why you guys are so addemint to trading it. Can someone explain?
