Seeing how it looks if Mitts and Drouin sign legit deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArakinSkywalker</b></div><div>its real tough to say for drouin. the guys playing real good with mack but if he's not with mack is he worth 4.5? i think the ceiling we'd pay him is 4 and i don't see too many other teams offering him more than that.</div></div>
Yeah I agree wholeheartedly, his overall game has definitely improved, but I think it’s legit to ask can he produce away from MacK because MacK can make a lot of guys look good. Maybe he’s willing to take some sort of discount to stay knowing what it’s like playing without him.

Last chance
I could absolutely see Colton being the Avs cap casualty this off-season. I don’t love this return though, not saying that your offer here is bad from a value stand point (even though i think it’s a bit light). Just that i would like something a little bit different. Closer to the value of a late first round pick. Could be 2nd’s for example.

Kovalenko won't be on the top line. Nix the Toffoli signing, put Kovalenko at 3RW, and re-sign Drouin for 1LW and you're in business.

if Landeskog comes back
Jordan Harris isn’t worth a 2nd and I would trade Colton before I’d trade Lehkonen. And there is zero chance the Avs give a $2M contract to a bottom 6 guy.

An Optimistic Attempt
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Anus_McLeod</b></div><div>I'd love to keep both, but I'm taking Walker if I have to choose one. Manson can be replaced easier at the next deadline or earlier.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>Malinski seems to have taken a step back since returning to the Eagles; his production is down which is disappointing. Ideally, he would have built off his success in the NHL. That doesn't mean he won't get another shot but the Avs are very impatient with guys like him. But I do agree that Manson does have a "presence" around the puck, even if he makes mistakes and takes penalties. That being said, I do think they can find someone that may not be able to do what he does offensively but can be a good defensive stalwart.</div></div>
I wouldn't look too much into a small down time for Malinski's first full pro career, its normal. They show no patience when its clear there isnt a fit with Barron n Timmins, and Heleson told them he wasnt going to sign, so thats a write off. I believe Walker is the easier of the two to replace as theyve done it through draft, trade, and free agent signing. They have failed in multiple attempts to find a Manson. Nemeths, Graves, and others. Let me know some rhd or even lhd that will provide what Manson brings for less money and fits the Avs speed and style of play.
Edit: I can see them sending Ritchie back for another jr year to grow physically and play in the WJC's.

I don't agree with much of your comment. I think he's worth both the price and the salary. I may not have the right team though.

I wouldn't move Manson to keep Walker. Manson does more around the puck and plays with a presence. JJ likely wont be back so they need some size and Walker's offence can be found elsewhere, like Malinski.

Avs Offseason No Landeskog
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Poogy</b></div><div>Way too much money for Drouin I doubt they bring him back next year</div></div>
He's got 46 points so far this season and only needs 8 more to post his highest totals ever. He's actually playing some defense and his stats are up all over the board; his relatives are quite high and he's shooting the puck well and creating plays. Is that sustainable, especially on another team? Maybe not but he seems to have gotten his career back on track. I would think the Avs would like to have him back but probably can't afford him unless he takes a deep discount or they know Landy isn't returning. $4M for a top-six winger is more than fair, though.

You've stated this several times here; care to cite a source? I imagine he looked around and saw guys like Cozens and Tage getting paid but he hasn't done what they have; he has to know $7M isn't realistic. I do think, long-term, he could easily come in around $5.5-6M.

Lindgren is an option but not for richie, MacFarlane said yesterday he will be important to the team but they want him to succeed in the nhl so he has to "cook" in the minors

Wingers that do what Lehkonen does at the price he does it are not easy to find.

Yeah Guentzel is way more of an unnecessary luxury but dowd at 650k would be a very big add to make a shutdown 4th line and add a PKer that can win a faceoff

Possibly. I think the Avs are going to be in a pretty good spot for rotating guys this year and may need to with some of the older guys. They're actually suddenly looking deeper if everyone is fit.

If that's the case then Avs literally cannot afford him without moving another piece. It will go to arbitration and I have a hard time believing an arbiter will award him more than that.
