Avs Offseason

Description
With Landeskogs Return still looking unlikely this team has plenty of cap to play with, First off Signing Mittelstadt is key and a 5x$5.3m seems perfect for both sides. Onto the Walker and Manson decision with a first being moved to Philly for Walker I highly doubt the Avs let him walk in FA and with Manson's cap hit being similar to Walker's projected hit it seems a simple solution is to trade Manson to a team lacking defense in Detroit, Detroit pays a decent price for Manson surrendering a good prospect in Buium and a 4th rounder added on as a sweetner. Obviously rolling with two rookies on the bottom pair is risky and likely the weaker of the two gets replaced with the remaining cap at the deadline. Goalies are a hot topic in the league but the Avs seem to have found a solid duo in Georgiev and Annunen I would not be surprised to see Annunen get a short-term deal similar to the one I made as sort of a prove-it deal to see if he can maintain his current numbers. Now to finish off with the 4th line Olofsson has proven to be a reliable 4C and with Duhaime's hot start he could land a nice extension to be a mainstay on the 4th, Foudy is another solid prospect for the Avs could round out the trio with his mix of speed and skill. I imagine they will also let Trenin walk, considering he isn't a 4C. Also, I don't know how Kovalenko will fit into this roster so don't attack me for putting him in the Scratches. Anyway these are my takes for the Avs this summer any comments are appreciated

Seems like a bit of a hefty price for the oft-injured Manson. That said, he has had a healthy year this year and brings an element to the team that Detroit is lacking. A lot of risk for us and I think there could be some sort of deal worked out. We would have to move a bunch of cap to make room though.

I think Mittelstadt will take a pay cut to be on a contender considering his attitude and if not the avs will just move him for someone that will pretty simple

Even if Mitts plays for say, $5mil per….
u guys are still screwed if Landy comes back
The only reasonable Cap Strategy u guys have is if he doesn’t

By the way, there's no creditable source stating he wanted a 7x7, you're good.

Make an Avs one if you know the team well enough. A 5m 2c is affordable for the Avs without moving additional pieces like Manson. A Wood move is the most likely.

You've stated this several times here; care to cite a source? I imagine he looked around and saw guys like Cozens and Tage getting paid but he hasn't done what they have; he has to know $7M isn't realistic. I do think, long-term, he could easily come in around $5.5-6M.

They can, but any guy with a significant salary is a big loss that u guys then have to replace with a guy making around $1mil

You’re gonna have a hard time filling out about 8 or more spots
