Note: Kings will be able to afford the salary cap is Kempe and Arvidsson will most likely not return until playoffs.
I don’t know if both teams would accept. Would all these draft picks be worth trading? if both teams would agree, this team on paper look deadly

We don't need any Defenseman period unless Blake plans on moving Roy.
We need a starting goalie or a Top 6 scoring winger.

Tf is this trade.
I wouldn't give up 2nd, Kaliyev and Turcotte even individually for Tanev.
Tanev is 34 years old.

Awesome deadline
Arthur Kaliyev who currently plays bottom 6 for the LA Kings who has a great shot and if given ice time he can probably score 20 goals.
Matt Roy who is currently the 2nd Pairing RD for the Kings.
So why give up Kaliyev and Roy for AHL Forward and a LD. We don't need a Top 4 LD we already have Gavrikov and Anderson.

That would give Conroy 5 picks inside the first 40 ish picks. That’s plenty to kickstart a retool.</div></div>
But why? Los Angeles has no issues with our LD.
We have issues in many other aspects to worry about giving away a big package for a position we have no issue with.

Hanifin to LA
So let this make sense.
Los Angeles is struggling in multiple areas. Without a doubt.
Our Depth isn't being consistent
Our goaltending isn't being consistent
Our Star players are not playing like star players
We are struggling to find our game offensively
Hanifin doesn't solve any of this.
Los Angeles needs either
1. Starting Goaltender
2. Top 6 Winger
3. Depth Scoring Forwards
Not gonna give up two young guns + 1st Rnd Pick for Hanifin. We have Anderson and Gavrikov as our Top 2 LD. Why are we gonna overpay for Hanifin just to have him on our 3rd defensive pair?
I'd rather consider Saros with that package.

We need Arvidsson back in our lineup more than we need Matheson. Why should we spend 4.8M + give up a 25+ Goal scorer and 2 first round picks for Matheson in which he'd be on the 3rd line pairing? Matheson is putting out these numbers because he is the go to defenseman in Montreal. It would make sense if we were weak on LHD, but that is not our weakness.

Im taking over the Kings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>Did you seriously just compare youth hockey with the NHL? In my beer league, all of our skaters are right handed. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. In the NHL, if you don't have both right and left shot forwards, it restricts the effectiveness of players, especially on the power play since they have to wait for the puck to cross their body before they can blast one-timers. There are numerous other negatives to having a shortage of right-handed players. Something tells me your youth team wasn't running a NHL power play.
Neither Anderson nor Gavrikov are better than Matt Roy. Advanced analytics will back me up on this one too. There's a reason why he was the #1 defenseman when Doughty went down with an injury in 2021-22. He can't play on the top pair with Doughty because they're both right handed, but he's still the 2nd best defenseman on the team. There's also a reason why during the one game this season that neither Spence nor Clarke were available due to cap issues, the Kings went with Matt Roy on PP2 over either of the guys you mentioned.
We're discussing potential with Laferriere. You said that he'll never play in the top six. I said he has top six potential. He might not ever realize that potential, but based on his emergence this season, I'd say it was a solid bet that he will. Regardless, he definitely has the potential to get there, so the only issue I have in your statement is "never."</div></div>
Love you bro

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>The Kings don't need any more left-handed forwards. Also, players that "finish" on other teams don't end up finishing very well on the Kings. Even the success stories (e.g. Jeff Carter) saw their goal production drop significantly from their previous teams once they joined the Kings.
I don't know what to tell you if you don't like Matt Roy, except that you're wrong. After Doughty, he's the best defenseman on the Kings.
I don't agree with this either. Laferriere has the potential to be the next Alex Iafallo (another guy who was incredibly underrated).</div></div>
When Carter joined the Kings, the Kings at that time were a very defensive structured team. The Kings are more balanced now. I played for the Junior Kings roughly 10 years ago and we won the tournament our entire team shot Left. Not one single right hand player. So don't see that as an issue.
Mikey Anderson, Vlad Gavrikov are way better than Matt Roy. Matt Roy will have strong games here and there but he'll always take stupid penalties and not be in the best defensive positioning.
On Laf, we can't really argue on that because neither of us can accurately predict the future.

Tarasenko is who we need to light up the offense. And Arvidsson returns to when playoffs start we a deadly threat. I'm not really a fan of Roy. He's prolly gonna go to the Red Wings at some point of his career, why not trade him there.

Trade Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Amen. LA's offense is among the top 5 in the League, so Tarasenko is a luxury. Matt Roy, on the other hand, is a necessity -- putting a rookie defenseman on the ice at the beginning of the season is one thing, but asking Brandt Clarke to step in for the last 20 games and then hold down a starting spot in the playoffs is a recipe for early discouragement.</div></div>
So can you guarantee injuries won’t occur? What if Fiala or Kempe get injured? Spence has played enough NHL games and personally I like Spence more than Roy. I have an official source that Roy will not remain in LA after this season. Clarke can handle being a 3rd pair defenseman. Also Matt Roy is having his worst season as a King. Tarasenko will have more of an impact than Roy. I know you’re a huge Roy fan but in reality you don’t keep players just because you’re a fan of him. If Roy was to be injured for rest of the season, I can guarantee you it would make 0 impact.

Which “trade rumor?” Do you have a source? And Arvidsson is miles better than Kulak. If Kulak and Arvidsson are the players going to be traded. You’re gonna need to add a 2nd rounder but unfortunately your earliest 2nd rounder available is 2026.
So what I would do is
Oilers 2024 1st Round Pick
Kulak
LA Kings 3rd + 5th
Arvidsson
