DNVR roster

In this scenario, I guess he takes a pay cut to go play for a team in win now mode instead of losing every year.

Or like Kane leaving the Hawks? Ovie could if the team become so bad that he can't score at a good enough pace. Never know if Crosby want to play Mack if could happen one day but probably not next year.

You said the avs are already set for the playoffs, why say that if its a trade after the deadline. Anyway I don't really want him, it would be overkill and cost to much.

Kane
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wadejos123</b></div><div>At minimum swap Kaut for Olausson. This is just kind of an underwhelming return for one of the best players in the world, especially after what we saw with Hagel yesterday, and apparently Lehkonen is worth a first? I get the kane situation is different but he's not even a rental at this TDL</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nqutilus</b></div><div>The Avs are already set for the playoffs, I don't see the reason to spend a fortune on Kane when we could spend less on Giroux. Plus, they're both luxuries and we can afford to go on a run without them. Plus, next year we need 2nd line forwards, not 1st liners like Kane.</div></div>
If you actually took 2 seconds to look this is a trade at draft not at the TDL. So It's 1 playoffs run of Kane not 2.

Deadline v 1001
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>in what dream world would a 25 year old power forward with over a PPG this year with awesome underlying stats and solid 2 way playing be your 9th best player??
realistically he would be your 3/4 best player. that said he would easily be 2 1sts and your top prospect.
less quantity more quality please.</div></div>
First of all 2 1st and top prospect is exactly whats on the table. Top prospect Barron, Olausson is a 1st plus an 1st
Second Avs ranking
1. Makar 2. Mack 3. Rant 4. Landy 5. Toews 6. Kadri (center greater value on the team) 7. Kuemper 8 Meier
Thats where a 2nd line winger on the Avs ranks in the hierarchy. He might be a 1st line player on the sharks but on the avs he's not 3/4 best player on the team. There's not a lot of distance between 4 and 8 I'll give you that but Rant is way ahead of Meier. Wouldn't trade 1 for 1 any of my top 7 for this cup run.

Deadline v 1001
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FunMustBeAlways</b></div><div>Yep they can thanks 👍
The only real value here is Barron and that 1st. That’s barely enough to get Hertl let alone Meier who has an extra year and expires an RFA. You have to give quality to get quality. It’s really no more complicated than that.
And by that same logic Meier is way better than Newhook (at a measly 0.45 PPG) and Byram (just 0.35 PPG)</div></div>
Are you really comparing the ppg of 2 rookies vs a 6th year player? Olausson also have value and Meier would be like 8-9 best player on the team. Your not getting more than 3 1st round pick for that. Enjoy the basement for year to come :)

Habs a bit different
Sorry to tell you but Drouin doesn't have that kind of value. Newhook is like Suzuki. It would take a superstar for Sakic to move him.

They can add Jost and maybe a pick but not Graves he's worth at least 2 quarters.

Sakic doesn't have to worry about his Dcore for the next 10 years this is crazy! and with Annunen in net in a couple of years they will only have to make the offence fit under the cap!

No way the cap goes up to 86M in 2 years the cap will stay at 81,5M for a while or even lower if fans cannot go to the games. Also Landeskog will sing a less than 9M maybe 7-7.5, hes not a superstar. Gruby wont get 6M specially for this long. Next year he will split 50-50 with Francouz.

Lets Go Sakic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>if Ottawa owned the 4th overall pick maybe if they coveted Byram the top D over Kakko .
but COL controls the 4th overall Ottawa's is 19th and not good enough on any level .
Shattenkirk's stats are on a clear decline and at 30 there is no way he's moving you up 17 spots unless he's coming off a career year and playoff run .
LAK need the best young Center available and are unlike to give up this pick to ditch Phaneuf when they could tag a player like Toffoli in a bundle and invest in youth given how old their core is .</div></div>
The trades are all jokes but COL was giving the 4Th pick the team in bracket means the original owner of the pick. The 19th pick would have CLB in the bracket because the pick that OTT has was originally owned by CLB.

Hahaha Makar ALONE is worth more than Hall specially with 1 year left! The Devils aren’t getting more than what ottawa got for Karlsson. If they want real value they should sign him first!

The 2 year plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Foppa21</b></div><div>O absolutely, 4OA will be a fantastic player, but no one is projecting anyone besides Hughes/Kakko to start the year in the NHL. Signing two of Lee/Zucc/Skinner/Hayes/Nyquist/Panarin/Johansson would be the dream summer. Lock up Rantanen long term, sign JT and Z, give Kerfoot a bridge deal and use him as expansion fodder.</div></div>
I think it's gonna be a dream summer because of the playoff run. There's not a single UFA that would't want to play with a defense dynamic like the avs. They would get a lot more chances to score. Right now I don't see a lot of teams with more hype that the avs for next season. At least in the teams that can afford to pay those bug contracts.

The 2 year plan
4OA will be a great player there's lots more talent then people might think this year or at least as good as tkachuk and look what he did. We can always sign lee and zucc or skinner or nyquist for between 6-8M each and have enough to pay rantanen like 9-10 and give a little extra to JT and kerfoot. We needed more dept last year and this achieved that and let the first line do what they do best. I don't see that option as a dream.
