Pittsburgh Penguins signed Juuso Riikola (2 Years / $1,150,000 AAV)
If this signifies that JJ is on his way out, this may be one of the best contracts ever signed in the NHL.

(STL/MTL) - Allen and 2022 7th RD pick for 2020 3rd RD pick and 2020 7th RD pick
Gives the Blues breathing room. Gives the Habs another backup goaltender.
Good trade.

MASSIVE W!!
We used what we got from Kovalchuk to get Allen. Pretty much getting Allen for free. Thank you again St.Louis

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>The single biggest take away i get from this is....and I can't make this more clear... THIS IS THE 2020 GOALIE MARKET. A .927 SV% 2.15 GAA got a 3rd round pick. ALL this 1st rounder nonsense is crazy. Doesn't mean a GM can't get fleeced....JR.... But MTL also has the cap space too. Just think about all the teams that don't have the cap space.</div></div>
My takeaway would be that you can't use stats from a single season to judge player value. Allen had a great season. He has some good overall numbers, but he is a 1B - he loses his starting job no matter how many times it is given to him. For a 1B at 4.35m, even if he is great in that role, MTL paid pretty accurate value.

Not really for the bottom 6, Russell is also a super hard worker so I feel like that's what earned him another year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AwesomeMatthews</b></div><div>This also stops Seattle from taking Kapanen in the expansion draft.</div></div>
Yeah, that's true as well. This is going to be a very weird offseason. It's going to be short, a flat cap, a pandemic still raging (particularly bad in many US states), a new CBA, and an expansion draft in about 10 months. Going to be a lot of factors considered in every trade and signing, and we could even see some very different approaches as there is no one that can really say they have been through anything like this.

Literally the only way this makes sense in terms of humanity is that Rutherford mixed Lindgren and Liljegren together.
If that isn't the case I don't know what the heck has JR been smoking.

So Rutherford looks at his Penguins Farm System which is already really lacking and decides to trade one of his best prospects and a mid round first for a third liner lmaoooo

The Leafs may have won this trade, and that’s great and all, but was it worth sacrificing their morals? Stealing from a senile old man... where does it end? Shame on Dubas and RIP Pit fans.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AwesomeMatthews</b></div><div>Does this mean Tuuka Rask is retiring, their are a lot of rumors.</div></div>
Rask squashed those rumors earlier this year. This signing has zero affect on Rask. Vladar needed a new deal and will probably split time next year in Providence with Swayman. More than likely he'll be the first call up next year if Rask or Halak go down. Good young goalie and probably the #2 goalie prospect for Boston.

I had high expectations for Ty Smith, but he hasn't really developed defensively like we hoped. I would say the Devils will have at least 2 D spots up for grabs heading into camp next season.
