I would be happy if adams would at least decide to target players like this in the draft. I'm not even sure you can say that's the case.

Sucks he's only signed for 1 more year, Sabres wouldn't pay Mitts and Konecny is gonna get paid. Sabres probably need a 3C more than a W know cause even with all those high picks we still don't know if any can play C in the NHL. I would do it, I don't think the Sabres would.</div></div>
I agree, it's close though. Konecny would hopefully bring in that grit and skill thing that we are missing. The flip side- he's only got a year left, he's gonna get paid big, and even though I appreciate his game, it's a fair question about whether he will age well, at his size and style of play. And he's a winger, which I don't love investing heavily in- usually the center is the straw that stirs the drink.

From Oiler land this may not be as silly as you think.
Drai has 1 year left. Then you look at the cap situation and they may have 3 contracts to negotiate that will be 10 mil plus to go with Nurse and his 9 million. 45 million in 4 players. That makes for tough team building unless your fine running an ahl bottom 6 and bottom pair.
There is a real possibility that if the oil get bounced early he will move at the draft. Returns would need to be mostly young players and a pick for a sign and trade out east.

Even if this is just for ****s and giggles, I like the free agent signings. Stephenson is rather unrealistic, and I wouldn’t want a $6 million third line Center. But he is a good player. I really like the other two pick ups because both guys hit people, which nobody on the current roster can do.

Barron makes ZERO SENSE for us to want
Clifton is our RD3, locked in
Barron isn’t close to a 2nd pair guy
Maybe try again, but actually put some thought into it this time

I’ll believe EDM trades Draisaitl when it actually happens
Seems very unlikely to even speculate about

I love that we're all taking turns pumping out "no change ACGMs" and then "Major Changes ACGMs" lol I do think they'll take a run at big pieces if they become available. Draisaitl/Rantanen/etc. but otherwise it'll likely be a quiet offseason.

I'd say the Caps decline here. Joki would be adding to a position in which Washington already has 4 RHD under contract next year, and also has Iorio waiting in the wings to come up, so there isn't a real reason for them to move a 2nd for Joki.

Could Owen Power become avaliable
For what? For Brady Tkachuk?- I'd do it. For something really really nice, I'd consider it. For a package of crap that most teams fans are willing to give up (the usual undersized forward, puck moving left shot d, top 10 protected first type stuff), I'd say kick rocks.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BUFF36</b></div><div>Very well could be a overpay, but Crouse gives something know to my Team and at a nice price for a few more years. Adds elements the Sabres desperately need and Kulich might not be ready for a bit. Samuelsson is hurt a lot and I have Johnson and Novikov in the AHL. Yes it could be a top 10 pick, that's why I put some protection on it in my Description. It would hurt to lose Kulich but the Sabres have a lot of prospects and the 2nd I got back in a different trade.</div></div>
Well we're on the same page that they do need to trade at least some of the future assets for something to help now. Whether they do or don't remains to be seen. What I do know is there just isn't enough spots for everyone.

I'd agree with this other than the caveat of it would all depend on what the Sabres were getting in return. It would have to be a VERY significant piece of the puzzle going forward long term to move one of the others imo.

It's a risk, if he repeats this season, you are looking at 6+ figures. Now, you could have him 3x4m

Byram and UPL also need new deal by then. So I assume long term deal go to Byram and JJ. Bridge to Quinn and UPL is signing 3 or 5 yrs deal this summer.

My only concern here is whether the Sabres will have enough cap space to sign the plethora of RFAs the following season.
The Crouse deal would be very tough for Yotes to turn down..... I will say that.

I'd say littlejerry said it best. What's in all likelihood to be a top 10 pick, Kulich, a 2nd next year, a TOP 4 DEFENSEMAN, and a prospect throw in is wayyyyy too much for Crouse and Hayton who has so far been a bust

Pretty solid actually. You are still hoping for bounceback seasons from Thompson and cozens, plus hoping for a healthy season for Quinn, but there's a lot more balance here. Stephenson would be a good two way middle 6 center, and you've added a fair amount of physical play to go with it. If the scoring bounces back a bit without giving up too much on d, this could be a dangerous team.
