Habs are less likely to do that than your last offer. You have to give up a quality forward prospect you don't want to give up, someone worth a 1st round pick, so one of Cuylle, Perrault (I know he is untouchable) Othmann or even Kakko or Lafreniere

Both trades are rejected by teams not named the Toronto Maple Leafs. 😁
You should've just said this is your way of the Leafs getting 2 good players for essentially nothing. 🙄
You didn't pay for the retention either. 🤭

Monahan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kingkanuck</b></div><div>I believe that he is worth a 2nd, but because the Canucks don't have 2024 2nd, I've improved the offer to a 1st, but need something else coming back. I might be convinced to take Montreal's 2025 4th instead.</div></div>
I dont think youre getting Monahan with added picks or prospect for a late 1st. This draft is pretty weak. After about 21-22 picks, its darts at a board from the CSS. At best that pick will be around 25ish if the Canucks lost in the first two rounds.
Monahan will go for a 1st plus. Truth be told, I rather they get 2 2nds that they can flip for someone in the offseason. they have 22 picks in the next two drafts another late pick around 25 doesnt do them much unless used as leverage in asset management.
I think Hughes will target a prospect and a 2nd. Otherwise, I hope they resign him. He's just way too good at everything.

Sellers iii
Teams have reportedly asked about Xhekaj and been told he is unavailable.
Makes sense. If he doesn't need to be showcased and is in the long term plans, being in the AHL has no impact on his value and plenty of impact on his development.
Knowing he isn't available, we can assume the competition for a LHD roster spot is down to who replaces Matheson (eventually).
We can also reasonably expect one of Harris, Struble, or Kovacevic will be moved to make room for Hutson, and Matheson or Savard may be available at the right price.
Long term, Xhekaj and Mailloux are being groomed as a potential pairing. Once we have room, expect them to be called up together to at least gauge their progress and viability in the NHL.

Ryjo is $4M cap hit per year. Nashville retained half when sending to COL.

They would have to give Montreal the sun and the moon for them to take Campbells contract for the next 3 years, like that pick would need to have no protection or something.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kinger25</b></div><div>I guess that’s a fair point but how long can he keep this up for?</div></div>
He's 26 years old, so who knows. He's now in his prime years. Regardless, if you're getting a 26 year old 50 point player who's cost-controlled? He's helping you guys while giving you cap space moving forward to build the lineup. Not to mention you're getting a top quality prospect and a 1st rounder. No offense to VAN fans, but there's a good chance they come back down to earth and that 1st round pick could wind up being a mid to early pick.
You also have to keep in mind that any trade for Nylander will likely not be getting another Nylander in return. Trades like this rarely wind up how fans like. The best TOR can really hope for in any trade for Nylander IS a player like Boeser, so getting quality futures in addition is a huge win.
