<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>You're either overvaluing Domi or undervaluing Puljujarvi.</div></div>
Domi's a center that's good for 50-60 points with the potential to hit 70+.
Puljujärvi's point totals would put him on pace for 22 points in an 82 game season, and he plays the wing. Not to mention his massive attitude problems and leaving his team to go play over seas.
Like it or not but he doesn't hold much value.

Pul's value is closer to a 2nd round pick than it is to Domi.

It has to be a precursor to a bigger move.
We're gonna have a backlog of like 9 defensemen fighting over 2 spots come training camp.

Laine Trade Discussions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bunzy1034</b></div><div>Yeah unfortunately we aren’t going to get a return like that for him I don’t think. I think the best they would do in real life is something like Danault (extended), Caufield, and 16 OA. That’s probably the max we would get</div></div>
If the base is Danault, Caufield and a 1st then I could see Chevy getting Bergevin to add in a defenseman/defensive prospect since we're drowning in them.

I could stomach losing Domi, Caufield+ to get Laine.
But losing Caufield and Romanov in the same trade may be too much to handle.

Danault being pursued by the jets
If Montreal's trading Danault it's probably gonna be for a top 6 winger.
He's probably still gonna have the most ice time for Montreal centers next season if we keep him, so there's no chance Bergevin's gonna trade him for any less since he seems set on competing with Weber and Price.

I'm assuming that's around the value the Jets would expect for Laine. They'd get their 2C, a top 4 D, a winger downgrade on Laine, a blue chip goal scoring prospect and picks.

Montreal Buffalo Detroit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AJC13</b></div><div>In my last dream I realized that Kapanen is signed for two more years at a very affordable $3.2 million. After which upon the contract expiration he's still an RFA. Domi on the other hand, is currently an RFA and will certainly be asking for much than $3.2 million.
Your suggesting 5 years at $5.5 million. As great as you believe Domi to be, there are question marks about signing him long term to an expensive contract. That's why no team (outside of "Dreamland" and "Fantasyland") would trade a 1st round pick for Domi.</div></div>
Have fun living in dreamland.
If we move Domi (a 25 year old center 1 season removed from 72 points) we're getting back far more than a 1st.
You can do whatever mental gymnastics you want in your head to try to convince yourself the Rangers have a shot at landing him though.

I don't believe any NHL team would even offer a 1st round pick for Domi. So maybe it's not people fighting the trade, it's people fighting against the Rangers getting ripped off.</div></div>
Except Domi >>> Kapanen and Kapanen returned a 1st and a prospect. Keep dreaming.

Montreal is almost certainly not going to trade a top 6 winger this offseason.
Top 6 wingers are arguably a bigger need right now than LHD, especially considering that Romanov is gonna help fill that need.

I wouldn't hate it if Montreal accepted, moving up that far in the draft would be really nice.
If that happens I just hope Bergevin uses the cap it frees up to make an enticing offer to Hall.

Laine to Toronto-Who says No
I'd say no if I was the Leafs.
Sure you bring in a better scorer than Nylander, but you become even weaker defensively.
Adding scoring and weakening the defense is the exact opposite thing the Leafs need to be doing, at least from an outsider's perspective.
