Thread: Thanks Army
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEarthmaster</b></div><div>Scandella's injury occurred in late August, long after Perron left in FA. not sure how Armstrong was supposed to have a crystal ball on that one.</div></div>

Yea I jumped the gun a little bit. The timeframe on his injury wasn't in earlier reports and <em>frequently</em> this type of surgery is on something that has been lingering for a while. I erroneously jumped to conclusions.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spaceman</b></div><div>I could honestly see a situation where if St.Louis is a playoff team and Detroit is not, and if Perron wants to be in the playoffs, the Wings trade him back to St. Louis at the deadline for picks/prospects. It's not a secret Perron wanted to stay in St.Louis.</div></div>

Two reasons I don't see that happening: (1) I really do think the Blues burned the bridge with Perron at this point. If the rumors are to be believed (they aren't always), Perron wasn't given a heads up, nothing. Just was... not given an offer. If that's true that appalling. He's earned at least a phone call from Army telling him that LD was the priority, they were looking to get help on defense and that there wouldn't be any cap space or offer coming his way. He's earned that and deserved that. (2) The Blues are tight up against the cap for 23-24 with the Kyrou and Thomas extensions and I don't see Army taking on Perron's contract for all of year 2.

Maybe trade deadline 2024 if things have calmed down on the Perron front and Detroit retains some salary, IF the Dead Things aren't in a playoff position and the Blues are. Big if.
