I take this, but only knowing that either RR or Severson get moved 🤷♂️</div></div>
but if RR could be flipped, then why wouldnt Philly just do that?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD25</b></div><div>I don’t care much for Boqvist. And I am always looking at the KJ trades assuming that there’s some bad blood with management</div></div>
There is no indication of bad blood. Just cause KJ was sent down, doesnt mean there was bad blood and all indications are that it helped him. He still needs to get stronger in order to realize his potential. Either way no way Habs would be getting these 3 pieces for their 1st. They could maybe get just KJ if he refused the extension/requested a trade and that was the best offer.

The only way Jackets do this is if you take away Boqvist and Brindley, then KJ would have to make a trade request and/or refuse to sign an extension.

Norris Laine Swap End of 2025
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>I agree, but if for some reason the new GM decided a buyout wasn't the best option, and they had to move on from Laine, I don't think this would be a bad trade. I think we have to go into next year assuming Elvis is gone one way or another. He's lost the starting job to Tarasov (when healthy) and may be behind Greaves on the depth chart shortly.</div></div>
I agree, but if the new GM thinks the better move is to swap Elvis for a worse goalie with a longer contract, then we chose the wrong GM and we are screwed anyway.

Norris Laine Swap End of 2025
We would be better off holding on to Laine and hope he can rebound, than trade him at his lowest value. We would also be better of buying out Elvis than taking on the extra year of Korpi's contract, especially considering Korpi is also worse than Elvis.

Overhaul
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>Eh I'd disagree, IMO GMs are more likely to evaluate young players on their current play and the potential they see from it as the most important part of their trade value, Slaf has shown what his potential is and it would be a high bar to beat.</div></div>
their potential is the same at this point, top line winger. We'll see if either or both realize their potential. Slaf is obviously being given all the opportunity to do that, where KJ almost certainly wont get a chance on the top line cause of who is ahead of him, but will still get a chance to show his skills. Overall to pretend like Slaf is on a "different tier" is dumb, they are worth about the same and bring different skill sets.

Both are very good players, both will have success in this league, they're not in the same tier though.</div></div>
they are 100% in the same tier lol. They are separated by .02 ppg so far in their careers. Maybe that will change down the road, but right now they are very similar in value, whether you like it or not.

They are definitely not in different tiers, thats some homerism talking. Slaf has the edge by a bit, but potential trade packages would be very similar. Slaf would probably get an additional late rounder thrown in.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>But what works in our favor is: I don't see <em>any </em>team doing that. He's been a decent 3LD, but that's not the kind of player you pay nearly $3M for. He either 1) gets extended at something like 2x$1.5M, 2) gets his rights traded to a team that's willing to sign him to a 2x$1.5M, or 3) goes unqualified and gets signed in free agency at something like 2x$1.5M, <em>maybe </em>1x$2M. I think he at least has an NHL job with us, so he'd likely be open to extending.</div></div>
yeah thats all true and i would love him at 1.5 for a couple years.

Also, while I'm here - we need <strong>more</strong> steady vets, not less, so despite my really liking Chychrun that deal is IMO a nonstarter. And while I believe Lindholm could get that contract I don't think it should be with us.</div></div>
the bigger issue i see with Bean is his QO is like 2.8mil and i cant see us doing that. So he likely wont be qualified and we will need him to agree to a contract with a pay cut.
