I think you missed the point/sarcasm/humor. He wasn’t being serious. If you noticed every player brought in was a local.

Damn that jets trade is definitely interesting, I’d have to imagine they’d say yes to that. Schmidt has been quite good but they need to open a spot up on D and need forward depth.

Fair but point still stands. We’d probably want a better prospect than hall.

i don't really like that ottawa trade, i believe it is an over payment white hasn't been that overly impressive and his contract is quite large with term aswell.
personally at most id give stud, 2022 2nd, 2023 4th, seny and moore
seny = ennis
stud + 4th = white ( ottawa clears cap and picks up a younger asset)
moore + 2nd = brown i value brown around a 4th-5th and moore to dump around a 3rd

My TDL Ideal and a bit realistic
While i like the concept. 1st for Copp is fair. Rest is an overpay for the other two.
1st for Copp.
Trade Debrusk to Seattle for Lauzon. Dump Moore and Wagner with a pick to Zona for Dzingel or Nash.
Accomplishes similar result while being in a better cap situation.

My thoughts during this game
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruinsforlife</b></div><div>I agree the adds we did in the off season are depth pieces, without that good #2 center and that good Lhd we don't compete enough. Bruins are good to sign our players, but UFA is always bad. Ullmark was a good UFA, forbot was needed but not at this money, haula, foligno, reilly are not that good.</div></div>
Sweeney does just enough every year to not get fired the bruins won’t ever win with him making moves. They need to go all out next 2 years and then go full rebuild, there’s almost nothing it’s the prospect pipeline.

Physical brand of hockey
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruinsforlife</b></div><div>I break it down like that
No value = senyshyn
Jake Debrusk for Laughton = Debrusk trade for a first so Laughton for a 1st wich is a bit more than what’s he’s worth
Ristolainen with ret = Reilly, 1st (yess less value they they got him for but they got fleeced amd resto hasn’t played well
Konecny = studnicka, Moore (cap dump and cap hit purpose), 1st and a 3rd and the balance form Laughton trade
That make the phylly had 3 1st (2 in 2022 and 1 in 2023) a 3rd. A decent 17-18 minutes lhd (Reilly), Moore cap hit of 1.6m buried, studnicka a decent prospect who needs a chance, senyshyn who hold no value. They have plenty depth down the middle (Laughton), ristolainen is on the block and konecny doesn’t play well for 2 seasons</div></div>
Reilly is better than Risto. you get rid of that part of the trade and im fine with it. still need a 2c tho

My ideal TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>This is an okay hockeydb summary. Sort of.
Debrusk for all his slumps has a career 82 game average of 22-22-44. He’s been playing great (seriously, he’s been buzzing. Seven points in 11 or so games i want to say, but good all around game)
Moore isn’t even a 7th d man. He stinks. Pure cap dump.
Studnicka has actually looked pretty darn good at the NHL level. The bruins allergy to injecting youth continues, this is nothing new.
So no, once again, your opinions are inherently not facts. Does someone need to teach you what that word means?
Either way, find me instances of rentals going for this much. I’ve already done the work for you, so I know you’re not going to come back with much. Rick Nash is probably your best bet. Widely viewed as a preposterous overpay, and at least Nash had a boat load of 40 goal seasons on his resume. Your, “supreme,” which, while we’re on the topic of definitions you should probably learn, first line center is 32nd in points among centers over the past five years (the best of his career). 35th in points per game. 353rd in plus minus.
Yikes.</div></div>
Sorry but I am going to trust the people who actually work in hockey to tell me Hertl's value over some guy on capfriendly. No offense, I am sure you're well-regarded in your circles but you're often very brash and argumentative on here and pretty polarizing. Even B's fans seem to be embarrassed by you - which is impressive.

Nah they could have gone 8-1. Protected 4 d men top line and Coyle. Likely would have lost Debrusk to Seattle unless they traded him for Graves. Then it would have been either Smith or Lauzon lost.

At least someone gets it. 👍🏻
The holes they really needed to fix, the players just were not there in free agency and they did not really have the pieces to make trades.
Does not mean i like what they did. But i understand the thinking behind it.
Biggest regret is not trading for Ryan Graves. I know it would have messed with their expansion protection list. Oh well. The back end would have been set. No need to add Reilly and Forbort. The $ spent there would have been used to replace whoever Seattle took, Debrusk/Smith most likely.

Not terrible, but I don’t think we move Graves just for the sake of moving him (or for pick). I think we’d move him to get a piece we need.

Realistic type of TDL for bruins
I could have seen Debrusk/Senyshyn for Lauzon/MoJo earlier.
But with Urho stepping up and Zboril before him they are going to have a logjam at LD next year.
Don’t see Seattle moving Dunn and don’t think he’s a good target for Boston.
I love the idea of going after Copp with an extension.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bnormie46</b></div><div>Dubois is the jets 1c and plays more than Scheifle now, not sure how you believe he's an unproven 2c? Dubois for the jets is an untouchable player and if you want a player that an organization doesn't want to trade you have to give something that's worth discussion.</div></div>
Hey if the Jets consider PLD untouchable, by all means, consider him untouchable. Sad state of affairs in winnipeg. If you’re not sure how I feel he’s an unproven 2C, it might have something to do with not willingly looking at a couple dozen games, and deleting the last 300 from my memory. Maybe he’s turned a corner. Maybe he just played well for a couple months, which happens. Maybe the puck was just finding the back of the net for him. Honestly I like the player. I liked him in Columbus, but calling him a bonafide 1C is just insane at this point. He’s playing the best he’s ever played, and I would say that’s fringe 1C territory at best.
FIrst off, he’s just not the number one center on his own team, and no, he’s not playing more than Scheifele. That’s just objectively not true.
Secondly he just doesn’t score at the rate of a 1C. He’s 35th in points among centers. Tied for 46th in points per game. I think he’s got a lot more to offer than just points, but given that this represents a significant uptick from his career performance, 1C is just far from proven.
So on one side you’ve got that for a year before he hits RFA, arb eligible.
Then on the other you have nine years of a top five d man in the NHL.
Ya, that’s not really a discussion. It’s a fair point to say that this package wouldn’t be the structure that edmonton wants, as picks and prospects might not be what they’re looking for (retool vs rebuild), but its overkill in terms of value. McAvoy is preposterous. Carlo would be more of a discussion.

Bruins aren’t trading swayman if it isn’t transformative for the franchise. Ferraro is a real good player, but isn’t in that category. Hertl is a rental.

One thing I worry about the Bruins is their cap next season when McAvoy gets his 4.9m raise. The only big contract expiring is Bergeron at 6.875m and do the Bruins want to lose him?</div></div>
if E kane's contract was only at 3.5 mill that shouldn't be to hard to adjust too. most likely haula, reilly would be moved as guys like steen. studnicka, zboril will be competing for a full time spot. Lohrei and lysell having been doing good in their leagues they could even be under dogs to make the roster aswell. i do believe bergy, marchy, pasta, mcavoy, folignos leadership could all help trying to put kane into the right direction but he also has to want to change no one can force you too. maybe if he was to agree to going to some type of rehab or counselling then bruins would possibly take that risk but at the current moment bruins need to focus on trying to get better as a team not having bergy babysit kane
