Kane comes home
If Kane is traded to Buffalo I would want Skinner going back the other way. Buffalo cannot take on $10.5M without significantly more money going out.

If Poolparty is gonna come back to the NHL (Buffalo), then yeah. I like it.
Also depends on if the Sabres are going to make real actual plans at center besides draft at 7 and pray.

Nobody is taking Okposo...and why the hell would we want Rask or Perreault?
We don't need Brodin either, and Carter isn't waiving his NTC to come to Buffalo from LA.</div></div>
Rask is arguably worse than Okposo, but $2M less and 1 year less. Not saying we want Rask or Perreault, but we take them.
Brodin is good and what does our LD group look like? Dahlin, Pilut, McCabe, Bryson? McCabe is horrible and needs to go and Pilut and Bryson have yet to prove anything.
Carter loses his NTC after this season I'm pretty sure, so he has no choice.

I think DET really covets Stützle. Like REALLY.
IRL they probably keep 1OA 99/100 times tho.

Ok? He's just a UFA replacement for Roslovic in this trade. Not meant to be a major part of the trade. Replace him with Rodrigues, Vesey, Frolik, Girgensons, or Larsson if WPG wants.

Rest of season
I would hope the Sabres retain up to 50% on any UFAs or even an RFA like ERod if it raises the price even a little. LIke if Sheary at 3M gets a 4th, and Sheary at 1.5M can get a 3rd, I would hope they don't sweat the retention. But with this organization, you just don't know.

No one should trade a player based on their attitude. That's how you end up trading away Ryan O'Reilly, LOL.

Risto sucks. We can go around and around all day, man.
Sabres need forward help, and you have to give something to get something in a trade, and Bogo, Sheary, and a 4th for a 2nd line center isn't ever happening in this dimension.

Why would ANA move Rakell?</div></div>
If I had Rakell on my team, I would not move him. If you wanted to make an argument for moving Rakell, it would be that his his age doesn't line up with the young incoming core the Ducks have. Moving him for younger pieces to fit in with their upcoming talent could make sense. But Rakell's cap hit and level of service he offers make it difficult to part ways and I understand backlash when it comes to trades involving him.

doing 3 trades for BUF
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Swagmaster</b></div><div>All Bad trades
Overpayment for Nylander
Galchenyuk is a rental . Send a rental D not one with term
If retaining salary on Bogo should get more than a 5th</div></div>
I don't think they're all bad.
Most teams don't have the cap to fit a bottom pair d-man like Bogo at $5.1M. It's not prohibitive for BUF to eat half and send his often injured butt off for a mid/late round pick
Galchenyuk is a rental, and McCabe is not one of BUF 6 best D-Men IMO. It's only an extra year, BUF isn't losing too much for an offensive upside risk.
Nylander trade - I don't think it's an overpayment. It's always tough to trade him because his Cap hit is high. Risto is a bottom pair D-Man for most teams, but is a PP QB and would be an upgrade for TOR on the right side. Vesey is rental who can play up and down the lineup and maybe contribute some lost goals from Nylander. The prospects Samuelsson and Weissbach are B-Level at best, but still have some potential.

Ceci included purely for Cap reasons. Don't need him to play or to be retained past 19-20 season. Sabres could even retain salary and flip him again. You gotta give up something to get something. Just trying to be balanced.

Your Montour deal is fine. I would say BUF would add the pick not TOR. Money in and money out, and Montour needs a new contract after this season anyways and Kapanen is under contract. Us Sabres fans always over-value our players, and we just acquired Montour at the end of last year so I can see why fans would be quick to jump on you. But Sabres need forwards and they need to offload D so something has to give.
