(VAN/CHI) - Dickinson and 2024 2nd for Stillman
Two nobodies being moved along with a 2nd to dump the larger contract. Meh
It's too bad dickinson hasn't worked out in VAN as I do think there is a set of skills there that could be useful in the right system. That bet along with the 2nd works this trade out in Chicago's favour I think.
But I find it very funny that VAN needed to pay more to dump him than they did to acquire him.

I see them honestly having a pretty good prospect pool with Lambert, McGroarty, Zhilkin, Salomonsson (just starting to realize how great of a draft you had. All 4 of those guys were in my top 36), and Lucius, with Perfetti graduating to the NHL. Just wondering why you guys wouldn't want rentals?</div></div>
For me, I just can't see the Jets being enough of a threat to go deep on the playoffs to warrant moving their first.

As by not giving in and making Sandin make him self look more and more like a fool he is winning
Sandin will eventually give in and sign the deal Dubas laid out out
Gross did this once before and in the end we got WN on a steal of a contract.

Nyquist would be an okay pickup, but Winnipeg should not be trading their first the next couple years for anything less than a star player and definitely not for any rentals.

Faceoffs are not really that big of a deal. The Colorado Avalanche won the cup with the 4th worst faceoff win rate in the entire league during the regular season
Pettersson definitely is a 1C. Your argument is irrelevant

To anyone saying bad deal, what choice do we have? Let him walk in free agency? All things considered he probably could’ve gotten even more on the open market.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CEO</b></div><div>What happened to his team-first mentality?
Though, for real, he is an amazing player. But not McDavid</div></div>
Sorry but some of you guys don't have a clue what a good deal looks like for a player of this quality, with a rising cap...
Mackinnon could have easily got 14+ million from multiple teams. Taking 1.50-2m off his market value is a huge hometown discount. He easily left 12-16 million on the table over the course of this deal, compared to what he could have gotten.
You need to compare cap hit percentage, not just face value...
Otherwise you might as well say " 1 million dollars for a house?!?!? My Grandma bought her house for $50,000!"
Its all relative.
Cap hit percentages of star players when they signed:
Ovechkin - 18.96%
Crosby - 17.30%
Mcdavid - 16.67%
Malkin - 15.34%
Mackinnon - 15.27%
Toews/Kane - 15.22%
Mcdavid today at the same cap % would have a cap hit of $13,752,750

Probably Nemec+Mercer…but I doubt either team is looking to do this sort of deal.
Garland-for-Severson (or similar) or even a Pearson-for-Walsh scenario all seem more fitting.

Those ARE quality Prospects. You can counter with something, but you know Jack & Luke Hughes aren't available. Take Dawson Mercer instead of Tyce Thompson if you prefer
Let The Canucks Re-Build Begin!</div></div>

Canucks forward core is already super deep, and very young.
Pettersson: 23
Boeser: 25
Miller: 29
Horvat: 27
Mikheyev: 27
Kuzmenko: 26
Hoglander: 21
Podkolzin: 21
Garland: 26
None of those prospects will scratch this top 9. Shakir is an LHD which is no help. Again, you want a franchise forward, you have to give up QUALITY. That means top prospects and players. The fact that none of L. Hughes, Nemec, or Holtz is simply insulting. I wouldn't make an ACGM trading for Jack Hughes using Linus Karlsson, Arshdeep Bains, and Jack Rathbone as the "top prospects"
