You want Pettersson then the Canucks will have 2 Hughes brothers. Either Luke+ or Jack is what it would cost

It's the Equivalent of Two 1st Round Picks + a 2nd + Two 3rds there, then add Severson, and Tatar, which is what another 1st + 3rd/4th!? Seems appropriate to me

I don't know lol, help me out with it. Just looks like VAN is going Russian and have too many LW's

Without NJD Including, Moving or Trading either of their Hughes Brothers, what would it take for NJD to acquire Pettersson do you think!?

Maybe it starts with Nemec instead!?

Thanks for doing a Devils post.

CGY - a lot of pieces here, it’s hard to evaluate. Ruzicka is interesting. Zetterlund may be a keeper though.

VAN - the sum-of-the-parts may have value, but to get a Pettersson-like player, we’d likely have to part with blue-chip prospect or young player, unless that 1st pick is very high. I think the Garland-for-Severson scenario is more plausible.

ARI - Farinacci would be nice to bring home to NJ. Not sure he makes an NHL roster anytime soon though. Johnsson would be useful to Arizona if they needed to get to cap floor (I think they are okay).

BOS - we had Greer the last couple of years. He thrived in Utica, but struggled in NJ. McCarthy is worth keeping here.

Interesting ideas.

Probably Nemec, Mercer or Holtz in there.

There’s no value in the package, it’s like jumbling some leftover pieces that don’t fit the Devil’s timeline for a great player. Start with a 2023 1st and Nemec.

Maybe Swap Tyce Thompson out for Dawson Mercer instead? I NJD needing both Holtz and Mercer, especially if Bratt sticks around and NJD wants to bring in a Star LW

I don't believe it's far off and I'm offering Top Prospects... I'm not just throwing a large quantity of garbage prospects that won't make the Devils or any other NHL lineups. Aside from Severson & Tatar, there's 4 sure to be Regular Full-Time NHL'ers in that package. Whether they becomes stars would be up to VAN to continue developing, but they were Drafted high as having the potential and are all well on their way (other than the 1st Round Pick that hasn't been selected yet)

Don't be ridiculous now lol. That's a Quality Package of Picks & Prospects My Friend. Look them up if you don't believe me

I wouldn't offer that much for Barzal, that's for sure

IK who they r… devils farm system has so many former firsts it’s insane. Okhotiuk is good and Tyce has this brother who plays too. He’s pretty good I think lol.

Crazy how you target Vancouver's franchise forward and don't give up a single player or prospect that is remotely near Pettersson's value. Want Pettersson? Starts with Luke Hughes

Former first round picks =/= first round picks in value. How about we trade you Luke Schenn. He was a former 5th overall pick

Well eventually all those 1st Round Picks grow up and you don't have enough room to play them all, so you might as well package them for something you need. They're all good prospects, but NJD has such Great Depth, they can afford to give a few up for a difference maker, hence my trade proposal

If you can't fit all those prospects, what makes you think Vancouver can? We need quality over quantity

Get off the juice man. It's JT Miller's Team now and there's a Russian invasion happening in VAN, so better to cash in on Pettersson now and build around Miller and his Comrades. Trade Horvat too so you can bring Tarasenko or Panarin in next season. The Swede's lead this Team nowhere, time for VAN to go in a new direction me thinks

Those ARE quality Prospects. You can counter with something, but you know Jack & Luke Hughes aren't available. Take Dawson Mercer instead of Tyce Thompson if you prefer

If Tyce Thompson, Shakir Makhamadullin, and Nikita Othotiuk are considered top prospects, this league is going to get a lot worse

Those 3 Players would instantly leap frog your Prospects. Other than Lekkerimäkiand and maybe Arshdeep Bains, VAN has nothing in the pipeline that would be considered a Top Prospect

Canucks forward core is already super deep, and very young.

Pettersson: 23
Boeser: 25
Miller: 29
Horvat: 27
Mikheyev: 27
Kuzmenko: 26
Hoglander: 21
Podkolzin: 21
Garland: 26

None of those prospects will scratch this top 9. Shakir is an LHD which is no help. Again, you want a franchise forward, you have to give up QUALITY. That means top prospects and players. The fact that none of L. Hughes, Nemec, or Holtz is simply insulting. I wouldn't make an ACGM trading for Jack Hughes using Linus Karlsson, Arshdeep Bains, and Jack Rathbone as the "top prospects"

Not True, MIN didn't get one for Kevin Fiala who had a superior year to Elias Pettersson: https://www.capfriendly.com/trades/players/kevin-fiala and what makes you think Elias Pettersson will return more than Jack Eichel: https://www.capfriendly.com/trades/players/jack-eichel He's not going to get what Matthew Tkachuk returned, I'll tell you that

If you're insulted, I would suggest you set yourself up for disappointment by setting your expectations too high, over valuing your teams player and/or perhaps just being greedy

A Great Team Starts with Great Defense, so in your Re-Build, focus on the Back End and work forward from there. Your Defense needs A LOT of work and my proposal would give you a good start to that
