It's a matter of fitment. The 3C spot is Isaac's in Anaheim pretty securely. Brainstorm would be fighting for 3LD with LaCombe, and frankly, I really like LaCombes progress this year.

Henrique trades
I got no desire to trade for Kakko. He’s a Jesse Puljujarvi part 2: always saying this will be the year he breaks out when he’s a middle six forward at best.
I’d do the Avalanche trade but I really don’t want RyJo 🤣

Draft question

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHAR</b></div><div>Ducks still need that #1 RD and trading Drysdale further opened the door to taking a defenseman in this D-heavy draft class. If he's on the board when they pick the choice will be Levshunov IMO. Neither Warren nor Helleson have a ceiling any where close to what Levshunov would bring into the organization.</div></div>
Well, Levshunov was my first thought last month when the subject first came up, but everyone started talking about Eiserman. Nevertheless, I still think that Verbeek and the scouting staff will pick a forward, although naturally I won't be disappointed if they select Levshunov.
With quality offense on the LD, I think that we can succeed with complementary players at RD; the need for a star is lessened, in my view. But I may be ploughing my own lonely furrow here.

Draft question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Agree with you about the Ducks -- I'm convinced that they'll go for a forward, preferably a right-handed one. With LaCombe, Mintyukov and Zellweger developing nicely on the left side, and Luneau and Warren developing (hopefully) on the right, defense isn't a priority with such a high pick.</div></div>

Revenue in New York is a lot different than revenue in Anaheim.</div></div>
I agree with you. Dumping him would cost alot. Just saying for us to get rico I’m not sure they could do it just half retained, they probably need to dump salary also, or get a 3rd team. Rico seems like a long shot to the NYR

Leafs
The pick difference from Tor 1st to Ana 2nd is going to be what, 10 spots, which is hardly worth much? Then we give up another 2nd, Rico retained which is a 2nd + a bit, and Lyubushkin for let's say a 5th.
So you're saying Robertson and Steeves are worth 2 2nds? That's rather steep valuation.

A Couple Thoughts Ive Had
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tjk</b></div><div>I was just going off of 6 months from August. Good to hear he's coming back sooner! Why do you say that? Outside of Minty wouldn't he just be in their top 4? Plus he can play RD. My thinking is that LaCombe has been pretty meh if not bad this year, and Broberg is better than Urho. And I'm guessing Zellweger isn't brought up this year. If anything he'd be your second-best LD right now (better than LaCombe and Urho). Play Minty top pair, Broberg 2, Fowler 3 and PK.
They should be one of the teams to take a risk on a former top-10 pick like Broberg imo</div></div>
Vaak has been pretty good when he’s gotten the chance to play. LaCombe has been solid when on the left. His struggles have been playing top pair minutes on his off side.
Even if Broberg is better than Vaak and LaCombe, it’s minimal. I doubt that he is anyways. And he’s definitely not better than Folwer.
No need to add to the congestion that is LD for a guy that’s doesn’t improve the team now or in the future.
Also id like to see Lundestrom get a full go in the new system. I think he’ll flourish in it.

Swap Top 10 pix from 2019 then rent Hanifin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LafayetteAvsFan</b></div><div>Bo can play either side, he's reasonably priced for two years, and watching Carlsson and MacTavish already playing better than I ever saw Zegras play (TBH have only seen probably 7-8 Ducks games in recent years), seems like Zegras has no place at center in the Ducks' future. If you want him as a top 6 wing, makes sense. But I would think Fowler would be a strong trade piece to a contender w/cap space and Byram would be your top or second LD w/Minty. And I know Fowler has an NTC but if he could win a Cup?</div></div>
Zegras is more valuable to us as a winger than Bo would be as another defenseman. If we're trading him, it's for a RW or right shot D. It's incredibly unlikely Cam goes anywhere, if he wanted out we would have moved him years ago.

A natural replacement to your aging 2C, an incredibly talented D-man on an ELC, a proven playoff performed, all for a couple months of a guy you presumenably can't afford to resign (either because Toronto literally won't meet the ask, or because doing so continues the cycle of overcomiting to the core 4 and not having enough cap space to properly fill out a roster.) And oh yeah, cost certainty for the next three years.
The better question is why Anaheim would consider this, and frankly, we wouldn't.

You Canadiens fans have to get over the misconception that Anderson has significant plus-value, and Harris wouldn't replace Jackson LaCombe or Pavel Mintyukov and doesn't have the potential of Olen Zellweger. In short, that's not an appealing package no matter who the target is, never mind a potential All-Star. Trevor Zegras scored 61 and 65 points in his first two full seasons -- the same as Nick Suzuki scored in his third and fourth and far more than Cole Caufield has scored in his last 131 games.

I was going to come back in because I noticed LaCombe was sent down but Bean was brought in. I don't think we need any more puck movers, especially after claiming Lassi. I also think claiming Lasso was purely to put pressure on Drysdale and we waive him after Drysdale signs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHAR</b></div><div>In the offensive zone I absolutely agree with that take. In the defensive zone Zellweger isn't any where close to NHL ready. The kid needs a year in the AHL to learn how to defend against men that are much bigger and stronger than he is.
The Gulls defense needs Helleson. If we're talking about what is better for the greater good of the organization then that's having Drew play the entire year in San Diego.</div></div>
If you want to keep Helleson in the AHL to help get playoff expirience and play meaningful pro hockey on top pairing then sure, even Zellweger I think could gain a lot from that.
