Matt Duchene baby
Hmm, this is very interesting. Normally Zadorov would be a non-starter, but with two young defensemen coming back and the 1st and Galchenyuk, COL gets their demand.

Haha! That Isles trade; I like it :]
If they were going to collect all those picks, why not try to get Hischier or Patrick? Those are the only two who could have significant NHL impact next season. Just a thought. Also need to buyout FB.

Right and if you're not going to play Pickard, might as well take Barberio

CGY has a ton of cap space. No real need for them to search for relief, even for a player like Brouwer.

Nill can't afford to wait for the #3 pick to mature into a real NHL player.

COL trade not really a fit for the Avs. I doubt CHI is a preferred destination for Sakic

Well, BSN reported that front offices around the NHL still hold Duchene in high regard. Sure, there is a question about last season, but that shouldn't diminish the return significantly. Remember, there are several teams that desperately need a top-6 Center, so there will be competing bids.

I think your opinion will chance with next season's performance. Duchene will get his fresh start and become re-engaged.

The Canes may not, but someone will. Perhaps an organization that likes winning like Montreal.

He was used as a winger, but isn't good on the boards. He need to play center and the Avs don't have a spot for him with MacKinnon, Jost, Compher, and Soderberg. He's also not really a Bednar guy.

Add a 1st and it's fair. Having a high Priced #1 goalie isn't a great formula in today's NHL.

The trade is OK. I think the Isles make a lot of sense as a trade partner. Small chance either Beauchemin or Mitchell are back.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brady_t12</b></div><div>I can't see 92 or 9 coming back to COL</div></div>
Landeskog went to Sakic and begged to not be traded. He wants to be part of the solution. Duchene, on the other hand, can't wait to find a new team.
As far as this roster, I'll also agree that defense needs to be improved. It would be a total failure by Sakic to not go into next season with at least one major upgrade on D.

Interesting, I didn't know he was that good.</div></div>
If he didn't hurt his ankle in training camp, Rantanen would have eclipsed 40 points, which is a Rookie benchmark for special players.

Okay, not trying to be mean, but i see so many Duchene trades where they get SO MUCH for him, when i see him as a 2nd liner. In my opinion he doesn't get them Hanifin+.</div></div>

If Roy were still in the Front Office, I could see some of these happening. However, that is the main reason he parted ways; half of the players on your roster won't be wearing Avs jerseys in October.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larkinisking</b></div><div>The ask from Colorado for Duchene is Sergachev+1st not Beaulieu+1st no way Sakic takes that.</div></div>
right but MG could say no and then offer NB. Depending on how he might fit into COL's lineup and style of play, it could be a good match. COL would prob need to take back Plekanec, for which they could ask for a wing prospect as well. Seems to be a natural fit for a MTL trade. We'll see if it comes to fruition.

He's a LHD who has never surpassed 40 points in the league on the last year of his contract, no way he gets that kind of return, especially with every team fully knowing anaheim cant keep all their d</div></div>
With only one year left, they can extend him this summer, I think when the SCF is over. I like the value above, perhaps make the pick conditional or just a handshake extension beforehand. And then replace DET with COL.
