Idk if this works but hey its something
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks1972</b></div><div>I disagree. Your 1st will be 15 to 24 and a B prospect.
You have to be savvy. GM’s know that Demko can really solidify a really good team. Buffalo needs a goalie and a RHD.
If Buffalo got Demko for a 1st and B prospect it would be a steal. It has to be more.
Luukkonen, Kulich and a 1st and I still think Buffalo wins the trade</div></div>
That’s too much given how BUF grades Kulich. You might be able to Ostlund, UPL & a ‘24 first for Demko. That would be fair value that might be worthwhile to VAN if they decide to move on.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Element23VM</b></div><div>Demko at most will fetch a first rounder right now and maybe a third (ie Kuemper value). Vancouver, if they think he's an elite goaltender, would be best to keep him because they're not going to get elite goaltender value right now.</div></div>
I see his value as above Kemper just on age alone, but you are absolutely right in that if they do not like the value, then hold him and see how he performs once healthy

Hughes swinging for the fence
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks1972</b></div><div>Swing and a miss.
Let’s do this
Demko and Boeser
FOR
1st rd (Florida), 2nd rd, 3rd rd, Justin Barron, Dadanov, Dvorak</div></div>
That would be a much fairer deal but Montreal isn't trading for Demko and Boeser. IDK why some Habs fans want to try to get better at positions we don't need to get better at, we need a top 4 RHD that can move the puck so we trade for a Winger, we need a top 6 Center so we trade for a goalie. Sure we need a goalie but we need to fill the other roles first.

Nashville declines. We don’t have a need for Garland, and rn isn’t a good time for a Fabbro trade.

New Canucks - Trade Deadline - Buyouts - UFA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks1972</b></div><div>Myers is a better player. You need a RHD. He is better than Zaitsez and Hamonic. It’s just for one year and to give a little bit of stability to add to the deal that you already have. He can play in your bottom pair.</div></div>
Yeah, the problem with that is the Sens are in a huge cap crunch for "that one year" so we simply cannot afford $6 million for a bad defenseman. In fact, if we don't trade Zaitsev we won't even be able to sign our RFAs.

Next Year - New Look
Monahan won't be on LTIR come the start of the season, he'd have to be moved and that would cost a pretty penny.

Ah. Add in Marchenko then too. He's ahead of Chinakhov and Bemstrom imo.

There are two lottery drawings and if the Canucks win either of them, they would pick at 5.
I stand by what I said.
As for the minuscule odds, I only create the absolute best scenario for the team that is the subject of my posts.

Canucks NEXT YEAR - Tweak and Cap Space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks1972</b></div><div>I would do Dickinson and a 3rd for MacLeod.</div></div>
That's not gonna work.
Dickinson's contract makes him a negative asset and adding that 3rd doesn't give Devils any reason to just throw McLeod away like that.
Can't see Devils looking to trade McLeod anyway, he's gonna be their 4C for the rest of their decade.

Tyler Boucher, Lassi Thompson and a 2nd :) will do</div></div>
Hmm, I'm not sure I'd be willing to give up two solid prospects for Boeser, he hasn't exactly wowed anyone and is making 7.5mil against the cap for next year. I'm not exactly against this trade, but I'd maybe remove the 2nd or change it down to a fourth or something like that or perhaps a weaker prospect with Thompson. Perhaps someone like Viktor Lodin to go with Thompson if Vancouver really wants that 2nd rounder.

New Defence DEPTH
Don't think Schmidt wants to go to Detroit. And I don't see why the Canucks would trade him for picks when they have so few nhl dmen. I think if he is traded it will be for a defenseman that can come right into the lineup and contribute. Otherwise why even trade him.

Canucks Next Year
A cap jump that large is pretty wishful thinking at this point. The absolute maximum it would jump by would probably be 2 million, with it being more likely that it only jumps 1 million or so.
I'd say the Gaudette contract is a bit too little and the Motte contract is a bit too much in terms of cap hit, but the difference effectively cancels. Stetcher could likely get a good chunk more than that considering that Green has recognized that he's a better option in the top 4 than Myers recently. Stetcher is someone who I could easily see management moving on from because he won't be that cheap anymore, which sucks because it's clear that it's the Myers contract (inferior player) that would push him out (the better player).
I'd be happy with that Tanev deal considering the term. That Markstrom deal looks like a discount in terms of cap hit if anything. However, both have made it clear that they would like to stay with the organization, so maybe a slight discount is reasonable.
With a more realistic cap and some slight salary bumps, I think it's clear that Sutter needs to go as well. He hasn't contributed to this organization in a meaningful way in a while (due to injury) and we don't need him anymore. It's also important to note that we need to stay about 3 million under the cap next year to prevent Pettersson and Hughes' bonuses from carrying over. We'll need as much cap as possible to get them their new contracts and fill out the roster as well.

Detroit says no thank you. He doesn't fit in to Detroit's rebuild and he's too expensive. That 3rd rd pick is just to important to Detroit right now.
