Top 5 Each Position Fantasy Hockey
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gabriel11</b></div><div>If it is this season, why is there no Bishop? And Ovechkin?</div></div>
To put it simply, they aren't top 5 fantasy players at their position.
Ovechkin got beat by some other very good seasons but he's obviously close.
I think Bishop just doesn't play enough to games to crack the top 5, his season total isn't good enough but his average stats are good (still not top 5 but good).
Edit:
Season total had Bishop at 8th.
For reference, there are 12 player categories and 6 goalie categories. We aren't just talking goals and assists here.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsFan33</b></div><div>It's not that I don't like him but I don't love him. And sometimes, you have to give up a good player to improve your team. I'd rather have Sergachev. As for Spurgeon, no I don't like him. Not sure I agree with your statement either. Spurgeon, after 3 seasons, had 162 games played, 40 pts and -4 rating. Mete is 171 games, 31 pts and +27. I'd hardly say he's way ahead of Spurgeon at that age. And Mete's plus/minus is a little skewed since the majority of his playing time was with Weber, which helps a lot. I'm just not a fan of his small size which will eventually be a problem in his own end. He's a third pairing the defenseman at best in the NHL. The only reason he made the Habs three years ago was because MB couldn't do his job and get a proper LHD. And I personally think that Romanov will be better than him.</div></div>
Dude spurgeon was 21 years old when he played his first season. Mete is 21 years old after 3 seasons. Mete gets no PP time, if he did his numbers would be better. His offense at 5 on 5 is respectable. His +/- has lead MTL defense every year except for one where he was 2nd.
And did you say you don't like spurgeon? He has finished 11th and 13th in two of the last 3 seasons for Norris voting. You don't like him?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangle</b></div><div>the top 10 pick would be on an elc, if they are in the league, so it doesn't add much to the caphit.
suzuki is good but a lot of things would have to go right for him to be near as good as point. point scored 40g and almost 100 pts last season. ppg player this season. teams that have kept their elite talent have done well. pens, hawks, la, and caps all kept their big guns.
it's not a terrible trade but i think tampa would be fools to do in and montreal would be making a mistake not taking that deal.</div></div>
Well I respectfully disagree. MTL does not need to make this trade at all, stay the course, Suzuki will be a 1st Line player, the top 10 pick should be a great player too. Keep the cap space to resign your UFA's or use in other deals / offersheets (Sergachev). No need for MTL to rush their rebuild, they can wait on Suzuki.
I respect the fact that TB won't want to trade Point since they want to win now.
Suzuki was OHL playoff MVP, his track record up to this point is as good if not better than Point's. A lot of things have to go right for anyone to be a 100 point player (playing with Stamkos and Kucherov sure helps).
I know Suzuki would be dynamite in TB if this trade were to happen, and this would look very bad for MTL.

TB trade who wins
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>keep_ups12</b></div><div>Ok. I thought it was obvious who won and lost
Montreal gets a 30+ goal scorer who could be a point per game player. This is even a division team their trading with.
All they give up is a first round pick a top 6 forward and a defensive prospect.
Tampa gives a 40+ goal scorer and are giving it to a division team.
Tampa's chance to win is NOW. They have one of the best teams in the league and want to continue their playoff runs
They would rather trade someone else other than point</div></div>
Ok now we can discuss.
First of all, Suzuki is 20 years old and already a top 6 forward. That's his floor. At 20 years old Point scored 40 pts in 68 games playing 17 min / game. Suzuki scored 41 pts in 71 games playing only 16 min / game. Suzuki alone has the potential to become Point, so why should MTL overpay to get Point when they potentially already have him in Suzuki?
That's not a "first round pick" that's a top 10 pick. There's a huge difference.
Brook a defensive prospect? He lead the WHL in pts by a defenseman in 2018-19, he is offensive, his D needs work.
Now I agree and respect the fact that TB's window to win is now, so yes they probably wouldn't want to do this trade if they don't have to.
But how is this a "homerun" for MTL?
You never mentioned anything about cap space. "They would should trade someone else" there entire team has NTC except for Killorn, and even if they trade Killorn it's probably not enough to keep Cirelli and Sergachev.

You're not adding any reasoning, I've added plenty of reasons why I think this is a bad trade for MTL, regardless of how it looks for TB.
You saying "TB loses Montreal wins by a mile. This is a homerun" provides no value to the discussion. Give me something to think about.

Duuuuuude you left out the top 10 pick, top 10 picks don't just grow on trees.
And again it's easy to say that now but let's go back in time to a 20 year old point who had 40 pts in 68 games playing 17 minutes / game. Now compare that to a 20 year old Suzuki who had 41 pts in 71 games playing 16 minutes / game.
At this point I consider Brook's value to be negligible, especially when we are talking about a guy like Point. But Suzuki (who alone could likely replace Point in TB's lineup, a top 10 draft pick, and $5.9M in cap space which TB desperately needs is an amazing return.
Like IF Suzuki replaces Point in the lineup (which I think he is very capable of doing within 1 - 2 years) then TB has added a Top 10 Pick, Josh Brook, and $5.9M in cap space for virtually nothing.

Agree with both sides of this one. Brooks value is likely very low right now. But he did have a monster year in the WHL before coming to the AHL. He needs time to find his game and work on the defensive side of things in Laval, once he gets more trust from the coach he should put up a lot better numbers.

As an RFA in two seasons from now we would have the cap space to resign Point.
I do believe that this is a great move for Habs. It's an initial offer, I know it needs to be worked out. Maybe it's KK, Brooks and 1st pick.</div></div>
Suzuki had 41 pts playing with crap. Put him with Stamkos or Kucherov and aee what he does.
Then factor in a top 10 pick, josh brook and $5.5M in cap space.
This is so bad. MTL would be the laughing stock of the league next season. Mind blowingly bad.
Just keep Suzuki. Keep your top 10 pick and Brook. Why would anyone do this?
Edit:
Suzuki is 20, Point is 24. This team has missed the playoffs 3 years in a row. WHY would we be giving away a 20 year old Suzuki, a top 10 pick, Josh brook, and $5.5M in cap space before a crucial offseason where Danault, gallagher, tatar, Petry, armia are ufas. Is point over Suzuki going to turn this team into a stanley cup winner?
There is no defending this move in my opinion. This is drouin for Sergachev but 5x worse.

This trade would be a disaster for MTL.

Point rookie season: 40 pts 68 games.

Why do these trades? It's like choosing a mystery box over a boat. A boat's a boat, but the mystery box could be anything, it could even be a boat!
Tatar was MTL leading scorer by a lot last season, on pace for over 70 pts.
Petry is argueably MTL's most important defenseman.
It's not like these are high 1st round picks we are getting, the players might play in the NHL within 4 years or they might never play at all.

Like Mike Reilly was better than Ghost last year and Ratcliffe, unsurprisingly struggled in the AHL (like I said with McCarron, these big guys have a harder time once they leave Junior).
I was way off with suggesting this trade.. although the idea behind it was Ghost needing a change of scenery, maybe things would have been different in MTL.

The value is even, but I don't see MTL doing it.
And to those saying Nurse is the better playing in the deal go watch Drouin's highlights from 2018-19 and the start of this year. Other than a very bad stretch toward the end of 2018-19 and his injury, Drouin has been really good in MTL. He's one of MTL's only game breakers at this point.
Edit: and I really like Nurse, I wanted the habs to offersheet him when Edmonton was in their cap crunch and got him on a cheap bridge deal a few years ago. But I wouldn't overpay for Nurse, especially with how many LD prospects are on the way for MTL.
